Wow, i'm one of those black sheep who gets struck by lightning over and over and over. I finally got a new tranny but i only lasted 350 miles. Now i find out my transfer case is bad. My local dealer says You cant buy parts to rebuild them ???? so now i need a new one. I'm considering eliminating the ACD from my car and just using a 2004 lsd T-case. Anyone have any information they can offer me on that??

 

Buy an EVO7 transfer case with the ACD, they are much stronger than the USSpec Evo8 transfer case.

 

Where can I get that???? Will that definitely work in my car????

send it to TRE to get rebuilt. they will rebuild it and shim it properly.

 

Dude, just have it rebuilt by Jon from TeamRip or John from Sheppard racing. Whomever is closer to you. TC can be rebuilt .... btw the 05 do have the front LSD and ACD. The LSD is in your front diff and there is a rear clutch type LSD in your rear diff ....

 

i have no problems with mine, been to the track many times and no sign of trouble. (touch wood)

 

There is a guy selling his TeamRip rebuilt TC on here. Hope you get yours fixed.
And why is your tranny not covered by the dealer? it's heavily modded? :P

 

its a very loooooooooooooooooooooooong story. search my posts. A local dealer ship rebuilt my tranny improperly 3 times and the 4th time i brought it there they decided they couldnt fix it so they kicked me out because my car was modified

 

dang....that sucks. Your car is always in the shop it seems like. UNREAL. Send the tc out and have it built and shimmed properly and that will fix that. Then if and when your trans goes out again send it to TRE also.

thats sucks bro, I had the sames problems with my O3 Evo and now I have a 05 Evo and hopefully dont have that same TC problem!!

 

I thought the 05 Evo have a stronger TC than the 03's??

 

First time i've heard of a TC problem on the 05's. Sounds like you just have a shotty *** dealer. I'd try to get it covered at another dealership.

 

I would sue and park my Evo right up front with a list of all the sh1tty work they did, go after them.
