WHy we shouldnt lend our Evos for friends to drive....

Left it at my friends house one night, he asked to take it to the grocery store, i said yes....outcome.....

front and rear left tire got pulled off the rim
front bumper smashed
right side skirt pulled off and scratched and huge hole in the front of it
intercooler screen smashed
downpipe smashed to where its about a 1/2" downpipe where it meets the cat delete pipe
wheels all scratched to hell

saw the accident scene, came around a big sweeping turn going way to fast spun out, did two 360's in the raod and into a field with huge plow mounds and spun 2 more times in it......such a shame...what can ya do. at least he was ok.

thats another reason why I dont like driving or borrowing other peoples car. I would feel very guilty if I messed up their car. Its not just the money you have to pay but the repair time and chances that their car might not be the same anymore depending on the damage. sorry to hear what happened

thats true but you could never know what could happen. If your friend drove your car and got in a accident and wasnt his fault you still be pissed because ONLY if you didnt lend him the car it wouldnt have happened.

Yeah, true. I just trust that my friends would never get into that situation in the first place. Oh well

Still, though - sucks about the car

I drive my buddies STI and he drives my evo sometimes, we were even thinking of swapping cars during AutoX this weekend. I wouldn't let anyone who doesn't own this type of car drive mine though. Besides him, my mom moved it out of my driveway to get my truck while I was sleeping, and she said she was scared ****less...

Man that really sucks... I do hope your "Friend" will be covering the damages. If not, you don't need him as a friend.

This seems to be a common occurance with the Evo... It seems that everyone has heard that the Evo is almost a supercar (Which I think it is) but then they seem to forget that all cars must obey the laws of physics. There is a point beyond which NO car can recover. If a formula one car can lose traction and crash, so can an Evo or any other car you can think of... What a shame.

Hope that the car is repairable and can be brought back to it's original condition. Good Luck to you man.
