Time for Turbo upgrade... suggestions?

Hello family,

I've been chillin' on mods for awhile... but I'm back in action now and I want to upgrade my turbo... considering a Garret T4.

My current mods are:

HKS EVC 5 BC @ 24psi track / 21psi street
Vishnu Xede (93 octane / cam / full exhaust map)
HKS 264 / 272 cams
HKS Grounding kit
ACT clutch
GReddy BOV
HKS DP / cat delete / Thermal CB

Please recommend a set-up for under $5K. Is there anything I could do for under $3k? Considering larger injectors, fuel pump, ARP head studs, headers, and FMIC as well. Please advise...

Thanks...

ur on the same route as me these 2 kits are what im thinking of....

Evo6.5TME Edition 16G Ti
This is the turbo off the Evo 6 Tommy Mackinen(spell check) Edition. The shaft and fins of the turbo are made of titanium which is like 30% lighter and spools up faster than the stock 16G we have on our evos. It spools up about 600-800rpms quicker and gives better top end. The "hotside" is a 10.5 i believe. Price from Buschur is about 900 somethin. Its a simple 100% bolt on stock looking turbo with some fair increase in performance, not that much.

or....

ATP turbo kit. Kit costs a lot less than 3k and can give u almost or above (depending on which turbo u get) 200whp gain. Spool is about stock. Kit is bolt on, retains stock exh mani. Comes with all oil/water lines, the turbo itself, tial 40mm i think it was wastegate, 3in downpipe with v band clamps and lower IC piping from the turbo to the intercooler. I personally met a guy who had this kit and he pumped out about 430whp daily driven. He ran AEM EMS, new intercooler, radiatior, etc... but pretty impressive kit for the price.

It all depends what you want out of the car. Would you rather have good midrange or huge top end, fast spool or big numbers, everything is a trade-off.

You can have it all with Turbonator!
Seriously though, you can't beat the stock 16G or a TME turbo. If you must upgrade the turbo, then go for the TME, from what I've seen it's great. I'm pretty sure you can get up to 400whp with a TME and a ton of other mods.

You could prolly try 2 things....

TME turbo or 10.5 hotside bolt ons/alchy/larger FMIC. Prolly run you about 2-2.5k

or

Upgraded turbo from buschur or AMS. From what I have heard the ATP kits loose a bit on the top end since they use a special housing to bolt up to the stock mani. Prolly 2.5k - 4.5k depending upon setup....not incl tuning/install

Also you could just buy a TME turbo and try it. If its not enough power over stock you can always sell it. Im sure youd have quite a few takes immediately if you took a hundred bucks or so off the price. Youd get to try it out and if it doesnt work out its not a huge loss ya know?

If your looking for a good set up at a descent price, definitely go with the TME turbo......very stealthy look. Plus, with the extra $$ u can upgrade your fuel system and the intercooler. Also, you can get a good engine management to tie it all together. Good luck man!
