Dual gauge steering column mounts

I was wondering how many people went with dual gauge steering column mounts as this is what worked well on my Eclipse. Turns out that after test fitting this in the Evo there is less room below our gauge cluster so the right gauge blocks the fuel indicator completely... has anyone found this impossible to deal with on a daily basis? I figure I can just reset my "trip A" odometer at fill-up and check my fuel level before heading anywhere so I don't get caught running out of gas. Another idea was to mount another LED for the low fuel warning right in the gauge pod so that I'll have some warning when I'm down to my last few gallons of gas. Does anyone know which wire to tap into without me tearing into the gauge cluster?
I went with the ATI steering collumn gauge mount with 60mm Defi BF's. The first thing I thought was "holy moly" all I can see is Defi gauges. But, you get used to it and I crink my melon around to see the fuel and temp. gauges. You can only see the outer perimeter of the left and top of the speedo. I cured this with a Defi HUD unit. So, only fuel is a bit of an inconvenience but not impossible.
Actually there is a pic of mine here on EvoM.

I got tired of the ATI unit. It either blocked the speedometer which is kind of hard to see in some light conditions without a gauge in front of it or it blocked the lower portion of the tachometer with the left gauge. The right gauge just blocked the gas and the temp which really didn't bother me on a daily basis. Good idea, poor execution with the pods being so high and so large even for the 52mm gauges. It is an excellent quality piece though.

Likely I'll try it out and see if I'm an idiot for running out of gas
I can just see doing some laps at Watkins Glen heading down the front stretch just past the pit entrance only to notice that I wasn't going to make it around another lap... when running hard at a road course it's easy to loose track of things as simple as fuel levels but topping the tank before runs should keep me out of trouble. If the wire for the fuel level light jumps out at me I'll hook up an LED while in there and post to the forums.
