I'm liking the Idea of a Buschur Stage 1...BUT, their site lists it as $1300...thats a bit over the $1000 I have to spend.

Do you guys know something I don't know?

well, get the engine management first, if you got the money. down pipe, test pipe, you could get it for cheap later on. it's just piping.

Don't get upgraded injectors, the guy saying that doesn't know what he's talking about.

Last I checked, a MAF pipe and air intake are the same thing.

Buschur parts are A+++! Awesome stuff... however, if you have any local welders you trust, you can get a custom 3" exhaust fabricated for rather cheap...

In my opinion, if you want the most performance for your dollar, I'd invest in these mods (in chronological order):

1.) 3" turbo-back exhaust
2.) manual boost controller
3.) HKS or GSC camshafts
4.) Walbro fuel pump and whatever desired engine management

$1000 could buy you the first three, assuming you can get someone to fabricate you a nice 3" exhaust for a good price. Good luck with your car. =]

By the way, if you're wanting an engine management system now like a lot of people recommend, I'm selling a TurboXS UTEC v1.7 for $725 in the for sale sub-forum. =]

EM. You'll need it sooner or later - get whatever you can get tuned locally. UTEC or Xede for example.

Then start on your exhaust with whatever is left.

I probably won't need it actually. I don't plan on doing too much after this. A Stage 1, with possibly some other things down the road. But I don't plan to race or do any hard core AutoCrossing so I don't really have a need for hardcore engine management.

And yeah, $1000 isn't all that much. But it what I've got to work with this summer.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and opinions.

I think I'm leaning towards a BR Stage 1.
I'll probably have to wait a month or so to do it, hell maybe I'll save up and go straight for a stage 2, since its only an upper intercooler and MAF pipe.

Also, I'm in Central Illinois, are there any good tuners around this area?

I don't have a shop or the tools to do tons of mods. So a shop would be nice.
You've been PM'd!
