Défi DGauge installed!! PIC!!

My Defi 52mm Boost DGauge came in the mail today. First thing I did when I got home was open up the lovely package at my door. From start to finish it took a total of about 2 hours, following the guide on this site. The most time consuming part was having to shave the screws down for the mounting bracket because they weren't allowing the upper column cover to close completely.

The gauge is great. Really responsive, spot on accurate, and blends in nicely. My Boost is at ~21 and tapers to ~18 near redline. Only other mods are JDM DV and intake.

Exhaust and Reflash is next!

Here's a pic. Enjoy!!

The D series gauges actually do not require the control unit. So all that was required of the install was a vacuum hose, two wires, tie clamps and some screws!

are the d series as good as the gauges that require the control unit. I like the defi gauges but i dont wanna fork out another 200 bucks just for the control unit

I haven't had any experience with the other gauges Défi offers, but I bet they're as high quality, if not better than mine. There's a ton of features with the control unit, but I didn't see it as worthwhile, so I went D Series.

Damn. I like those D-guages so much. They look perfect. I have been really wrestling with not going with the Links. The links have all these variable dimming features and they record and they are the "best" now and all that. But damn, the "plain old" d-guage looks so damn good and I think it goes higher on boost. Considering it may be good for my boost guage to go to 40 (or as close to that as possible...don't ask) and I really like it DARK in a nightime cockpit (thus really prefer to have serious ability to dim guages), I'm having a hard time deciding. So help with these questions would be appreciated:

1) does the d-guage dim?
2) can you get defi-link with higher than 25psi boost range (or 30..do they go as high as your "plain" d-guage)?
3) Money not a big issue, who likes these better for style than the Links?

1.) Yes the D Gauge dims, depending on which wire you tap for power. I never dim my gauges, so I just tapped the non-dimming wire. I could have easily tapped into the dim wire.

2.) The plain D-Gauge measures up to 35 psi, but the BF gauge measures in bars, up to 2.0 (~29.4 psi).

3.) If money were not an issue, I would still stick with my D Gauge. I believe you can only get the BF's in bars, and I like looking down and seeing exactly how much boost I'm pushing without thinking about calculations in my head.

Yes, it usually spikes to ~23 psi momentarily.
