Precision Dyno Tuned!!

Finished up tunning my evo today!! i had the ems originally tuned at turbo trix (dynojet) about 2 months ago and my 1st pull on the awd mustang dyno the other day said i put 294whp and 270 some odd torque.... Nick from Precision Dyno Tuning told me there was more in it... so after the dyno today i gained 42whp and 33 trq. I was totally blown away by the increase!! the car is insane... no doubt in my mind 11.7 -11.8 trapping 116-118. All stock block, turbo, upper pipe, manifolds.

notice how smooth Precision dyno a/f curve is..(black line)

me vs. stock evo ems tuned

final pull

Looks like good power, but I think I would be uncomfortable running that lean on pump gas.

LEAN?
Where?
The A/F graph is averaged along in the run. The AEM log confirms 11.4 the entire run
At Max boost.
The curve averages out from idle thruout. It is a bit misleading I know.

He runs 11.4 from 17-24 lbs.
11.8 from 12- 17psi
12.5 from 8- 11 psi
13.0 from onset of boost - 6psi

The curve in the final chart looked a little on the lean side. Not leaving a ton of margin for the possibility of some bad gas. At 5000 RPM the A/F ratios appear to be right at 12:1 and it never appears to be any richer than about 11.7:1. I guess I just prefer a slightly more conservative tune.

Here is my quote

The line on the graph is a sample from the exhaust that gives you a linear average of the A/F. Not a plotted account per rpm and BOOST. Just an average.
His car is running just perfect.
Absolutely no KNOCK.
Raw counts did'nt go over .4

Oh, ok. I misunderstood your previous post. That chart is misleading. If it were a direct RPM vs. A/F ratio it would show 12.3:1 at peak torque, which I would consider lean. Looks like a good tune.

The first and third charts up top show the comparison. The roller coaster you see is the A/F ratio when it came in off the "other" tuner

You will need more than that for a 118mph trap speed. There is a local who is putting down 370whp on race gas on a low reading mustang dyno at aerocomp racing and he pulled an 11.6 @ 117 with a 1.6x 60ft. I doubt you will see 118 with that whp but you could deffinitely see some low teens.

I can assure all of you reading this thread that in no way anyone can pickup 44 whp from the same boost and same mods from when the car left our shop. I tune every car the same, it was tuned right and it was tuned safe. There is no way to pickup that kind of whp from the same boost with timing. I cant wait till password protection comes out for ems ..
