KVT-911 DVD player problem

My Kenwood KVT-911 DVD player has stopped properly working. When I folded the pop up screen down it stopped about 1 inch from totally retracting into the unit. The music still plays but no buttons on the head unit works. I used the remote and only the volume can be adjusted.

So I'm basically stuck with CD player that keeps playing the CD but won't eject it, and I can only adjust the volume by the remote. Does anyone know whats wrong with it?

I had the same problem with the KVT-911. Pull the whole thing out and ensure the wires going to a small power harness (bottom left side if you are looking directly at the the rear of unit) are fully seated. Somehow the the green wire got pulled slightly out of harness and I had to rig it or purchase a new harness ($42.00). Try that. If that doesn't work let me know.

Dude, let me ask a stupid question, how do u get the unit out? Do u just yank it out? Is there some clips on the side I have to push in to get it out? I took it to a stereo place and they said the gears in it were shot. I got there right before they closed so they couldn't get it out in time.
