When I stop....washer fluid squirts out
geez, wtf. My regular lancer oz does this too sometimes. Only when I have the fluid all the way full, which is almost all the time cause I usually use rain-x instead of needing washer fluid all the time. I laughed when I read the thread too.. its a funny problem. Kinda annoying cause my car is yellow and it makes the blue washer fluid look like green radiator fluid.
I have the same problem from time to time. I dealt with it by not caring.
Ruining the paint? What did you put in your washer reservoir, hydrochloric acid?

I just picked up an 03 a couple weekends ago and it does the same thing. If you stand on the brakes the driver side nozzle pisses itself <roll eyes> This is *nuts*. I plan on pumping a bunch of fluid out next time I wash it and see if it is better/same/worse.
The dealership replaced the driver side nozzle but it doesn't appear to have made a difference. Sounds like it's not the nozzle. Somewhere there some sort of pressure surge causing this. I sure hope the washer fluid doesn't stain the white paint because every couple days I'll notice what looks like a dried blue puddle all over the hood. I'll take it in one more time. If they can't fix it I'm just gonna empty the washer fluid and replace it with water.
Wow - It's kinda sad, but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. My car didn't have any problems until about 2 weeks ago; now every time I get out of the car there's some washer fluid on the hood.
You're right about it not being the end of the world, or even that big a deal, really, but it is annoying. I've owned alot of different cars but this is the first I've had that dribbles washer fluid across the hood for no reason.
This is crazy....I went to visit my folks this weekend and the driveway in front of the house is fairly steep and I backed in... The stream of fluid running down the hood from the driver side nozzle was steady and continued until a fairly large puddle (3ft diameter) was in front of the car. It is almost like it siphoned out the entire tank <roll eyes>
What a crock! It sucks to have a $30K car with silly problems like this <mumbling under breath>

When the local tire place cross-threaded all the lugnuts on one of my hubs and I had to get it towed by a flat-bed to the stealership for new lugs & nuts, so much fluid poured out of the nozzles I thought a coolant hose had snapped until I noticed it was coming from the hood. Also, when I'm on the track, at the worst possible moment (under hard braking into a turn) I get windshield wiper fluid splashed on my windshield. Yeah it's normally not a big pain in the ***, but there are just certain times you absolutely need to see where you are going, and it just so happens to squirt exactly at those times. I doubt this can be fixed with new nozzles, although that does sound like something the stealership would do to make you go away for a while. Nozzles don't stop anything, it's their job to pass the fluid through. It's the job of the pump or valve or whatever they have to keep the fluid in, even under the pressure of gravity.
I wish someone knew a good fix for this...it's starting to get worse as time goes on.

I ended up just emptying out all the washer fluid then keeping it that way...symptom fixed <sigh> Since the car is not a daily driver it isn't an issue...but it would suck if you lived in an area where you had to have it...
For all the great things about the EVO...it sure has it's fair share of total BS problems <shaking head>
