Go ahead and build the engine. Balance/Blueprint 2.0, or 2.3 stroker. Start from the inside out. It's all downhill from there

Man, this gets confusing. I thought a turbo kit was easy to get with $5k. OOops...guess not.

That earlier thread of the guy with the Gt35R kit really makes sense. His motor is all stock??? He did say he also had a HKS kit or something?

I will check into Cusco strut bars and AMS. Thanks. I thought some of you would of said Tein....they seem to be making a lot of noise lately.

I got my work cut out for me. The last thing I want to do is spend big $$$ for those mods that don't really do much.

Maybe I should of said....what is the biggest bang for your buck if you had $5,000 to spend on motor?

A big part of my reason for getting into the EVO MR was due to the bullett proof engines...these things been around forever. Bushur seems to have it all dialed in. I looked at Turbotrix...and didn't really get a good feel??? I know they have some dominant work though.

Thanks to you all. Will be researching more.

I would go with AEM EMS standalone, 3in turboback, lower intercooler pipe, intake, mbc, 272 in/ex cams, 660cc injectors and 255lph intake fuel pump. This will put you easily over 350awhp

I have yet to see anyone make 400whp on the atp kit unless it's the gt35r kit and that thing is super laggy with the stock manifold and atp's housing.

Talking

Evo8master---- Your idea seems most consistent with Buschurs.

Can you give me any tips or more details about this application. I am learning the stock turbo is good for 380awhp and nothing spools up faster. Can you think of the minor parts that will need to be upgraded as well. And what about the underdrive pulleys etc....? Thanks.

You can always go 20G, titanium turbine, and 10.5 hot side on the stock turbo...

I would go with 272 cams, alky injection, ems or dynoflash + all the supporting mods (injectors, fuel pump, ic pipes).

You can add underdrive pullies. Cam gears can help you adjust your power curve. A upgraded intercooler will add a few horespower. I recommend that only if you upgrade your turbo since the factory one does a great job with stock turbo. Water/Alky injection will help if you want to boost higher with less chance of detonation. A test pipe will free some horsepower as well as ported o2 housing and exhaust manifolds.

Thanks for the details. Does the dynoflash guy work with Buschur? Bushur recommends the AEM EMS set up??? I assume the AEM EMS allows for future mods without having to send in your unit? New to this forum, it's taken me awhile to learn all the different programs out there and how they work.

Okay, big question: What program allows me two maps at the click of a button? I would like a street map for low octane scenarios and a race map with 101 octane.

If I had 5 grand to spend and had the mods that you do?

272 cams -- 500
EBC --------- 315
JDM BoV 120
Intrclr 1000
Pipes 750
Cam Gears 300
ACT clutch 500
Flywheel 370
Fuel Pump 100
--------------------
3955

You'll need the extra 1000 for installation of the cam gears and clutch/flywheel. Then you'll need 450 for a custom tune/dyno pulls

That combo should put down 340-350 on 93 octane gas.

How much would all of that cost with installs and tuning do you think? Tuning might take awhile with that EMS tho eh?

FWIW, This is what I'm doing for probably a little less $(haven't added it up yet honestly)...

Buschur Ported TME turbo w/10.5 hotside
APS turboback
GSC 272/264's
Apexi intake and induction box
Buschur Ported and coated exhaust manifold and o2 housing
Custom tune from turbotrix
arp studs
Buschur 680cc injectors
255lph pump
My goal is around 350whp with a broad torque curve and faster spool up and less lag than stock. This is going to be on a semi daily driven street car.
