$5000 on engine mods to spend...lets go

Looking at Buschur Stage IV. Roughly 360awhp on street gas.

With so many turbo kits out there, what have any of you heard or seen? Seems like every mag has a $5000 turbo kit with 500hp claims?????

We all have our wishlists.......I am putting mine together.

Already have suspension taken car of.....so......time for engine mods!

Oh, need tips on best strut bars front and rear?

Will post dyno charts as mods installed. I guess one now and one when finished...have to do all at once. Shooting for 400awhp for safe, dependable, long running fun. Road racing and autocrossing....no dragging except for fun.

Les do it!!!!!

Buschur stage 4 would be a really good way to go. As far as the sway bars go, I would not get a front just get the rear. The evo suffers from understear with the stock sway bars. If you get a rear bar like the hotchkis then it makes the steering much more neutral and putting an upgraded front on will bring back the understear. I have the hotchkis rear and the perrin adjustable sway bar end-links.

I persoanlly like cusco for stut bars, and suspension stuff. I would check out ams (www.automotorsports.com), or rnr, before you made a def. selection on a turbo kit. Because both of them have been proven gains. You see that video with an evo and the lt1 and cobras, thats an ams turbo kit.

Yeah there is no way 5k is enough for a turbo kit and all the other stuff. I pieced together my own kit with a garrett gt3076r and a custom made manifold and I saved 2500 over the other comparable kits and I have still spent well over 5k and I still have to build the motor and do the head work. Tuning and dyno time and the little things add up fast.

I'm looking at spending around ~4k .. I've already called Bushur and what not.. but this was for a Exedy twin + resurface flywheel + install, hk264 cams + headstuds + timing belts and other misc things + install, fmic kit + all piping + install.. i think that's it.. which will basically make me stage 4 (even though i still tell people my evo is stock)

Damn, $5K leaves u open to a lot of choices. First off, ur not gonna be able to get a turbo kit for $5K, unless u go real cheap with the EMS, which is definitely a bad idea. Instead, get cams (i highly recommend GSC over HKS), cam gears, fuel pump, ARP headstuds, and some kind of piggy-back fuel computer (i recommend a UTEC or an XEDE). That should put u around $2K, leaving u plenty of room for a custom tune. In addition, maybe a 10.5 hotside, or if your feeling special, maybe the whole TME turbo from buschur.....lower IC pipes, maybe a whole new FMIC kit. I dont know man, u could do a lot with that amount of money.....i basically just listed off what i plan on doing in the future! Good luck bro and have fun!

I think you need another CF wing on top of your wing for all the power you'll get on your car.

aerodynamite!

I heard Whiteline's are fairely good suspension components. Porter from Topspeed swears by them.

I like hotchkis stuff personally, but Espelir items are I think good...
