I had to swerve into a curb to avoid hitting this ******* that about hit me on a 2 lane one way...no major damage other than a slight scrape under the front side of the bumper and the edge of the rim halfway around is grinded down a bit. I talked to insurance and they will send an appraiser soon. Should I get an insurance check and fix the damage or get the check and buy something else. Car is stock except turbo timer. Thanks and good morning!

You should probably take some pictures of the damage before anyone could say anything

would but no camera...like I said though scrape under front bumper from curb rash no more than 1" wide 4-5"long...not visible from standing height (could be covered w/carbon fiber lip )...Rim-halfway around grinded against curb...no spoke damage, just the lip.

I've had rims repaired for about 50 bucks. If you can't see the scrape under the bumper than no big deal.

net cost 50 bucks

that's what I'm hoping for....I think I'm just going to replace it though. As much as it is damaged it would probably cost around the same

I would go to a body shop and get an estimate. I dont know what your deductable is but if the cost is close I would just go ahead and pay it to keep the claim off your insurance. I realize that it wasnt really your fault, but if you dont have info on the other guy or witnesses they may still hold it against you.
