Tested the all new Evo 9 GT
Superficially speaking, we will be getting the GT (= USDM basic IX or "GSR"). However, the USDM version develops peak torque at 3500 RPM (nor 3000 RPM like the JDM one) plus we don't have the option of the magnesium-modified turbo, which I think spools up faster and/or promotes higher torque. I'm sure the USDM one will be pretty quick though
i think mitsu has it all wrong... we are by far the biggest consumers of the evo... and the "richest" if you will.... so why the hell do countries like that get the good cars? shouldnt they have to wait for detuned models? exhaust standards are one thing but less power too? i want a IX now but i have to wait and some guy in another country gets his frist!---just had to vent
This thread started about an EVO 9 test drive. WTF?!? Anyway, for trap speeds in the 1/4 mile like that means the car is pushing 400WHP in almost stock form. I dont know what kind of difference the new traction makes but my buddy's M3 turbo had about 450 to the wheels and he ran 11.8 with no wheel spin.

Granted, it has aftermarket parts on it, but you recieve it from the dealer with those parts already installed brand new, which I would consider "stock". If Ralliart tuned it before he recieved it brand new, I would consider that stock as well. I guess it just depends on your definition of 'stock'.
