Tested the all new Evo 9 GT

Yesterday my friend tested his all new Evo 9 GT at the airfield... Pictures attached. I have driven Evo models .. 3,4,6,6.5,7 & 8.. but so far 9 GT has been the best for me. Soo much torque & grip than the previous versions. It touched 200km/h+ a little after the 1/4 mile.. STOCK!..

I dun think that the Evo 6.5 would lose out to the Evo 9 GT in head to head acceleration though.. Its a lighter car and thus still slightly quicker despite the 9 having MIVEC.. Of course the grip is another story..

I also thought my 6.5 would have the power/weight advantage.. trust me 9 GT is a totally different animal.. u dont feel the weight.. its probably the MIVEC power it just pulls even in higher gears... i was blown away!.. anyway it has over 400Nm of torque as opposed to 373 Nm of the 6.5. The car was slightly tuned by RalliArt Japan prior to coming to Sri Lanka.

Well, 200km/h = 125mph and you said you got over that a “little” after the ¼ mile, what do you mean by a little? Do you know what kind of power you would need in such a car to reach 125mph? I don’t know for sure but it would certainly be quite a bit more than what a stock EVO9 has.

Could somebody tell us what kind of power a car in this weight class would need to do that trap speed?

wth? 200km/h = 125mph in the 1/4th. So your saying that the evoIX traps about 115-120 in the quater? That would make it a mid 12 car, STOCK.

You're joking about 200km/h+ right? That would be a 15mph improvement over the VIII model...
