Question about flashing?

Hi

I've decided to mod my EVO after having it for 2 years, I'm thinking of chaning my downpipe, freeflow cat, catback exhaust, and a drop in filter or maybe a JDM MR bov. Do I have to get a flash with these parts? or is it alright? I need to use my car everyday, so i really can't afford to send my ECU out, or maybe I should get a AFC? But I heard it's kind of hard to set them up?

What do you guys think about my mods? Are they gonna bring problems to my car? Also, would these mods void my warranty?

Thanks!!!

You don't ever "need" a flash unless you get a problematic intake system. You can do those mods and run fine...yeah, you'll be running rich, but you've been doing that for 2 years now, so I don't think it'll bother you.

The BOV and DP/Cat will probably void your warranty, but how much of one do you even have left after 2 years? I didn't think the 03s came with a great warranty to begin with.

I have the Buschur full turboback with high-flow cat and an aftermarket intake. It's my daily drive. No problems here without a tune. I will probably get a mail-in flash and fuel pump in the not too distant future though. Just too much potential with these few mods to not take advantage of a tune.

He said the JDM MR BOV, which is metal. The stock USDM MR BOV is a crappy plastic unit, but the JDM MR BOV is a much higher quality metal unit.

It's only difficult if you don't have the right tools to monitor your car. Boost gauge, EGT gauge, and a data logger.

you dont need a tune but after your hard long hours installing your parts(if you do it yourself) and all the hard earnt $$$ you spent why wouldnt you want to maximize the gains of your parts?

getting a flash maximizes your power and makes the car run better with the parts installed
definitely get a flash
no questions asked

I have similar mods and I could feel the difference from stock. Then I got the ECU flashed. It made a big difference. Apart from the added power, it also helped with the fluttering boost and the spiking.

Works is in san fransico, just drive over to their shop and they can probably flash ur ECU in 15 minutes. Fast, easy, reliable, and powerful. Can't go wrong with them.

You could deff bennifit from a Flash or SAFC.. you may think its running great but just do one of the 2 and youll see what youve been missing....I had the buschur tbe, intake ,upp and i thought it was cool till later that night i installed the Safc and damn .. what a diff..if you have buschurs tbe and a intake im sure you can get the safc from from Dave with the settings in it.

Yeah, what he said

The boost hose assembly takes a little longer to install, but we can still have you on your way with a WORKS P2 in under an hour.
