what is this part?
as some of you may not know, i am knew to forced induction and to the evo. i dont own one yet. im trying to get to know it well but im having trouble understanding all the parts for a turbo. this yellow filter and the piping and w/e....what is it? is the the intake? i thought the tubo replaced the intake lol. why isnt that on a stock evo? what does it do for the car? (i know i know, newbs should die)
uhhh wow. well yes that is the intake, and that particular aftermarket intake is the HKS mega suction i think. the turbo does NOT replace the intake.....hmmmmm ur kinda new to cars in general?
Yea they do, but its not a very good mod ( in my opinion). Theres alot of other more important things you can do with the money you can spend on an intake, and get much better gains.

I remember looking at my car once wondering what the air filter box was and the MAF. Man that seems like ice ages ago. That is one clean looking engine bay too. You have a great car to learn on...
hmm yes, thats the intake all right.. haha, The yellow part is the filter and the little box connected to the top is the MAF sensor.
as far as Intake as a mod for your evo, the 300$ is better spent in other places.. such as a fuel pump, fuel rails, and exhaust parts. From what i've seen, intake often hurts performance on the evo's. Stock airbox with a drop in filter = good.
