2005 5k launch limiter (revisited)
Here are some thoughts on the 5k limiter on '05 models:
Due to dsm95hybrid's success on the stock clutch using the 5k limiter as a stutterbox, I decided to give it another shot at the track after having practiced a few times on the street. I thought I had it figured out, but the drag strip lasers told a different story
. After a 2.0 60' and a 1.97 60', I decided to ditch this idea and give the old method a shot by disconnecting the 5k limiter switch for the first time...
I immediately did better with a 1.87 60', then a 1.82, and finally a 1.76' (in succession). It took some time getting used to the stock clutch not grabbing as quickly or aggressively as my ACT clutches in the past, but on that last try, I think I got it just right. I don't plan on attempting to get below 1.75 on the stock clutch, because this launch was about as good as it gets for me. There was only the slightest hint of tire spin and no bog whatsoever. I may improve some as I gain more power, but this was basically stock power, so I was happy.
I'd like dsm95hybrid to chime in, as well as ANYONE ELSE who is able to launch off the limiter and get 1.7s. Petey, I know you were doing 1.8s off the limiter, but I wasn't sure if you ever broke 1.7s consistently. I know that dsm95 has 2 clutch system upgrades, plus he has more power, so that may help explain his low 1.7s off the limiter, but I'm wondering if there's anyone else who can do it...

I pulled a 1.69 60' on the 129pass stock clutch 2 weeks ago as well as 3x 1.72 and 2x 1.74 at the NHRA/ NOPI event in bradenton, pulling another stock turbo 11 second pass with no EMS and factory ECU.
Warrtalon, you are self admittingly lazy. By now you have removed the restrictor pill and have the ACT so I would put back the limiter before you fry your 2nd clutch in 12,000 miles un-necessarily.

It is that attitude that will keep you back in the 12's. With the cooler months coming up as it is already 50-60* in the DC area where Warrelton is located, I expect to see my cooler flywheel hook up in the sub 1.69 range here in FL and get into the mid then lower 11's whilst still utilizing the factory issued turbocharger. It makes my day to hear all these $3000-6000 turbo kits running slower or even with my times.
Anyway, the only thing holding me from 11s was the rev limiter in 4th. That's raised now, so it should be attainable.
