Who would buy an 11 sec capable Evo

Want to sell my Evo but I can't part it out because I don't have the original parts. I am undergoing a change in life and now I need to reduce my Expenses. I would like to sell the car as is to a wanting buyer. My other option is to find a local person that wants to trade parts and pay the difference. The car only has 9k miles on it. Where do I list a modded evo for sale. Cars.com, Autotrader? Anyone have any experiences they wish to share or advice?

TIA

Stay away from places like cars.com and autotrader.com in my opinion, because all you get are scam artists who go to great lengths to sound legit while trying to steal your money. In 5 months, I didn't get one legitimate reply while selling a beautiful IS300. On the flipside, I used craigslist.org, and it got multiple hits EVERY time I renewed it until I finally sold it to someone from the that listing.

For your car, it will be hard to sell it in 11-second form, but I would at least try one auction on Ebay with a reserve, and if that doesn't work, list it on craigslist as well as the local paper and all the Evo sites. At least when you do the Ebay listing, be SURE to list the EXACT whp/wtq as well as your 11-second timeslip details.

Your not gonna get your money back for all your mods, just not gonna happend. Sell it for a reasonable price and it will sell eventually, but if you try to sell it for the KBB price plus the price you payed in aftermarket parts, it probably wont sell.

I am in Wisconsin.....I would be interested in taking some of those parts off your hands. That is if you are willing to work out a friendly price. My email is JEFFJESKE@JEFFJESKE.COM send me a list of your go-fast parts and maybe we can work something out....if the price is right.

ebaymotors.com

The guy above had issues with those sites because every dreaming kid out there will inquire about your car, you may get 500 emails of interest and never sell it. However on ebaymotors a bid is a binding contract, if they bid, they pay. Simple, and straight forward.

No, I only had issues with scam artists. Craigslist got me lots of emails, many of which were not 100% serious, but that definitely wasn't a problem. I was happy to answer the questions and eventually sell it to someone who really wanted it. Autotrader.com was the one that was awful and only got me scammers.

If i were you, I'd sell the aftermarket parts on a OEM exchange basis. You;ll make more money off the parts than if you left them on ther car and sold it.

that is the one thing that sucks about mods they are worth crap when you try to sell the car with them.....like compjoc said try to exchange them for oem parts then you'll get a better value for the cars itselfs, if you have the time and patience to trade, get and install the original oem parts.

I sold my old car on autotrader in less than a week. It was mildly modded. Got more than Blue Book for it, and sold it locally. It worked great for me. And its relatively inexpensive. No matter how you circulate the info on your car, be it ebay, autotrader, newspaper, flyers, etc, your gonna get some idiots inquiring with no intention of buying....especially with a car so desirable to a young crowd.

If you dont want to deal with that, you can always sell to a dealer, though you might not get the price you would like.

Also, try to sell locally....and by that i mean within 50 miles of your house. It just makes things easier setting up test drives, title transfer, etc.

Good suggestion. Could be a PITA though. Instead of selling one item your selling many with stipulations. Just depends on how much your time is worth.

Ebay is an option, although its kind of hit and miss. Ive seen a couple of modded cars get a decent price, although most dont. It wont cost you much to try, just set a reserve.
