Actually, compressors go bad from NON-use...the refrigerant in automotive A/C systems has lubricant in it...it's a good idea to run your A/C for a short time every week even in the wintertime...it will last a lot longer...

 

Nah don't get the HKS kit, you can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost with some 4 gauge wire from any stereo store. There's a writeup in the How To section.

 

yeah it will but 25 hp i dont know about that but yeah it does take some hp from u, alone with the 3 other people in ur car.

A/C robs power but I couldn't have an everyday car without it. I took it out of my old Stang and that sh*t sucked in the summer.

 

I really feel no difference. In fact turning on my A/C IMPROVES my Idle for some strange reason. The car I THINK has faster spoolup too, as you now have more load on the Engine. I love using the A/C.

 

Yeah, I think it is a given that 4 people in the car, (4 cyl. especially) , with the a/c on = slower. I used to have an old Integra and the a/c really slowed it down. A/C isn't all bad though. What about that last Ford Lightning they were working on but cancelled. They had the a\c blowing into the intercooler if I remember correctly. That's what we need, someone to come up with an a/c diverter kit to the intercooler for the evo.

 

Same goes in the winter. Your compressor runs when you turn the climate knob anywhere near the defrost section.
