The StealthWorks muffler is basically the stock muffler modified, so it looks stock because it is but provides maximum flow with very much like stock level noise. I would suggest this to anyone who wants to keep the stock look and sound. If you don't feel like you want to pay $200 for a modified stock muffler, you can always DIY. Do a search and you will see how some believes the StealthWorks is modified. You can go full turbo back with StealthWorks and it will sound very very much like stock.

Injen Cat back exhaust. It also comes with a cat-delete pipe with a mechanical check engine light fix.

Darth,
I have heard quite a few of exhaust systems out there for the Evo but a friend of mine(Zeus on here)showed me his Meagan exhaust and I was very surprised, it is the most quiet sounding aftermarket exhaust that I have heard so far. It has a nice deep throaty sound to it. I'm old so I really don't want to loud of an exhaust but after hearing his I ordered one immediately, just got it today but haven't installed it yet. Hope this helps you.

Where are you getting the Megan exhaust from? (ebay)

Does this one point straight out the back or does it come out at an angle?

Just got the Meagan installed and it rocks! I am very impressed for the workmanship on this piece. It runs nice and quiet, if I had to guess I would say it is only about 10% louder than stock, love it.

It doesn't point exactly straight out but it isn't angled very much either, kind of matches the contour of the bumper. Fit and finish was spot on.

I got mine thru Zeus(he is on this board under that name), he has a great price going on them right now and the price includes shipping right to your door. I'm very happy with this quality piece. Hope this helps you.

Apexi N1 cat-back is just a little louder than stock. The pipes are coated. Sound low enough for me

I don't mean to rain on your parade my friend, but that site no longer works. It keeps getting posted but it is useless. The icons look as if they are turned on their sides and you can't click on them.

It is still pretty expensive though. I was told that the inlet diameter of the muffler is still maintained. Not a 3" like the rest of the piping. Also there is a 90 degree bend into the muffler. And even though the flapper is removed, there are still baffles in there. It isn't like there is a single pipe that goes through the muffler. Not straight through anyway.

I have to admit I was in the same boat you are in. I agonized for months and spent way too much time on the computer looking for threads, videos, sound clips etc. I bought the Buschur Racing turbo back 3 in exhaust with Magna flow muffler and it is pretty quiet. More so than I thought it would be. It is a nice set up.
