I have the stock head unit. My radio still works, but whenever I try to play a CD the LCD looks like it is fading in and out real fast and eventually it says CD ERROR 01. No idea what that means, anyone have any clue?

edit: I have an appointment with Mitsu tommorow at 3:30 but it would be nice if I could solve this myself.

 

the stock unit is crap!! id rather get a new one... even if you get it replaced with another factory unit...its still crap...

mine skips alot even on brand new cds... i don't know why

 

I could take it apart as I know how to work on CD-ROM drives, but I don't think its worth the trouble in this case. Anyone else know anything?

 

or you could just pay me $55 paypal and i'll ship you my stocker that was taken out the day i got my evo and has never even had a cd in it. mint condition.

 

yea, mine often skips and i have some CDs that it won't even read. and all of them play fine in my stereo, computer, other cars stereo, etc. may just get a new head unit.....
