its sad to say that there is really no way of knowing if you are going to get scammed or not. he probably has several names and also goes on other forums and scam people there.

Just so everyone knows, Paypal defaults to using your current balance as payment for an item and will spend your cash before using a credit card unless you choose otherwise. 2 years ago I got hosed by a scammer for a pair of 264 cams that never existed and Paypal basically hung me out to dry all because I didn't pay for it with a credit card where I could have protested the charge. Lesson learned... they say it's the same but in reality you have zero protection if you paid for it with your account balance.

Payapl is not safe unless you use a debit card or cc. This way you can call your card company up and not have to worry about paypal saying "to bad". I know a couple of people that did it this way and when they were scammed on ebay they were refunded their money quickly by their cc company.

spend the extra small amt for COD. UPS charges COD per package. If they don't go for it, isn't it obvious? COD ensures UPS acts pretty much as an escrow service. You don't pay til it shows up. All you might lose is shipping.
