Fq-400 Whp?

Hey guys I just watched some Top Gear vid's on the MR FQ-400 and was curious as to the WHP rating on this car. Is it in fact 400 WHP or is that how much it is making at the crank? By the way it performs I wouldn't be surprised if it was 400 whp...

That's sad. Even with a bigger turbo, they can only get 400 at the crank? Isn't there someone on here with like 450whp on the stock turbo?

Quite true. But there are instances where some manufacturers underrate the hp and the rated hp is closer to the whp than crank hp.

Take the regular us evo 8, its detuned and runs ruch as hell from the factory so the car will last longer and be more reliable( mostly warranty purposes). Same thing is done to the fq, its a badass car with a warranty, and detuned for reliability and also for warranty, they want it to last atleast 3 years or however long your warranty is for.

So technically, if I was to get Vishnu Stage 1+ (and get about 390 crank hp) my car would be just about as fast as a FQ-400?

Yep, and ad in a 10.5 hotside, and intercooler...you'll be way quicker than the FQ400. I just love my FQ400 esq...Look out Lambos!

not to mention for the price of 1 FQ400 ($91k) you could buy 2 evo's & make them BOTH faster & handle better. that's 1 of my goals & the reason for having 2.

Yep, that's exactly the vehicle I had in mind. I believe the 03/04 Cobras' whp are very close to manufacturer hp rating as well.

not 100% true. i doesnt matter if you have 200hp or 600hp that doesnt rate how fast you are. the only thing that matters is how/if you can put the power to the ground and get it out properly (ie not chirping the tires) i am not sure if they updated anything on the fq400 that we dont have on our evo 8 here but if u get stage 1 yes u will have about the same power will you be almost as fast? the world may never know

don't forget to improve the handling/braking...
You will ptobsbly go at the same speed between the corners, but how about in the corners?

dont forget the FQ's are also MR's so they have 6 speed and bilsteins... now if you take a 2003 GSR such as mine and make the same amount of power, the FQ still has an edge in power delivery and handling.
