A super silly question

Ok, so I was taking some stuff out of my trunk last night and, holy moley, was the side where the muffler is super, freakin' hot. I'm assuming this is normal, but it still doesn't seem like the best thing. I guess the shielding underneath isn't enough?

They are all like that. If your worried about it at all you could just use some of that heat resistant padding. It works really well.

He is talking about the right rear of the trunk where it gets extremely hot.

once I changed the exhaust it seemed to be a little cooler than with the stock exhaust pipes.

I'm not sure if that would help heat radiating up through the muffler into the car. The rear bumper is cool to the touch.

It's true about the Ti exhaust. After I had mine put in, I realised that it cooled a lot faster than the stock.
