should i be pissed or not
My car orginally was in PA so I let them drive it up to Staten Island, it was a 95 mile drive, and there were only 3 miles on the car orignally, so when I got in my car, it had 98 miles. I approved of them to go pick it up for a couple reasons. First off, I was getting the car for below MSRP. Second, at the time (early January), there was only 1 Electric Blue 2005 EVO with SSL in 7 states. Lastly, I met the man who was going to drive it back up to the dealer in NY, he was a very nice guy (we talkd for a second) and he was about 55 years old. I went back the next day and waited and I saw him pull it it... with care, so I was happy.
You're under NO obligation to buy anything from these guys if you're not comfortable. Just like they'll tell you a bunch of stuff (oh yeah, paint's covered under warranty, clutch too for 12,000 miles, etc.) and not live up to it. It's a verbal agreement and nearly impossible to enforce unless a lot of uninvolved witnesses are willing to testify in a court that you, in fact, said to the manager of the dealer that you would pay $35K for this car if they went a picked it up.
So now that the car is on its way, you can call and say "you know what- I didn't know that the dealership that you were getting the car from was over 100 miles away. I'm not really interested because I can't be 100% sure that the recommended break in procedure was followed during the drive back. In fact, the recommended break in states that extended highway driving is to be avoided....." or wahtever you want. You can try to get free extended warranty, a reduction in the price of the car, whatever.
"Get it in writing" works both ways

but i take it 35 is way too much and i am getting screwed here. i am not sure if its 35 after taxes ect or before because my father is dealing with the dealership and not me. when i asked him how much he told me 35 which works out to be 15k with my jeep as a trade in.

Your father should be able to handle the ins and outs of this. I don't think he'd want to get anything less for your car than he believes it's worth, let alone pay more for a car he's about to buy.
Is your trade-in paid off? Everything we've been saying is pretty much speculation because we don't know how much your car is worth, if it's paid off or not, if you're buying a warranty, and all those other jelly beans that taste pretty good.

has anyone driven a white evo with ssl package on a test drive recently in ct? id be interested to know if anyone on here has test driven my car. i cant decide if im upset or just happy that the car is almost mine. im just venting i guess. thanks

I paid 26,900 for my new 03 GSR. When I bought mine it was just before the 04's came out. It sounds like you are in a similar situation with the IX comming out soon, I would negotiate a better price. You should be paying well below MSRP, otherwise just tell them you are going to hold off for the IX. Buying through a non-Mitsu dealer is a huge mistake. Now you are paying a commission to two dealerships instead of just one. Believe me both dealerships are going to make a cut on the deal. How do you think they pay the saleries of their employees, and manage to stay in business? For what you are going to pay for the GSR, you could be getting an MR instead. Tell your dad to drive a couple of extra miles to deal with the car dealer directly instead of going through a middle man.

they're giving you the run around bs. If the car shows up with more than 10 miles, get your money back, for all I'm concerned...it's not a new car anymore. Legally it still is a new car, but they should have been more honest with wtf is going on.
