Yeah the instant torque of the V-8 will snap u back harder. For instance I know most people have seen the vids of the 600 hp EVO vs. the cobras and LS1s. The v-8s always get the jump from their massive torque, but once it spools its all over for them .

my dad has a c6 corvette and umm, yeah it definitely snaps the kneck more than my Evo or my 450+ whp 300zx ... just torque, thats it and thats all

 

I have recently owned both (currently drive a 03 Z06 w/ 405HP and had an 03 Evo with very slight mods), and IMO the "snap the neck" victory is clearly the Z06/405hp/V8. My stock Z06 will break the tires loose at 35-40MPH and have only "slightly" lost a race to a heavily modded Porsche GT2 ($180K+). The beauty of the Evo, which the Z06 can't match, is the handling. My Evo would drive circles around the Vette. I had to go outta my way/get stupid to slide the Evo. Th Z06, when provoked will bite. Just my share...

 

I have a blue 02 Z06 (405hp) and drove it back to back with an 05 GSR. Z06 was faster and pulled harder but I was very impressed with the EVO. Can't wait to buy an IX MR.

 

yeah the vet most definatly would but if they were equal hp then i think the evo would.

 

I drove the new C6 Vette. The car was fast, but I prefer the pull from 350whp EVO. I also drove the C5 Z06, and the car felt faster than the new Vette.

 

sweet, although i don't see how you can "run circles around it" when z06's register a .98-1.02 on the skid pad and when properly driven, the z06 is in the highest class in terms of handling...unless it's in a small parking lot course, or if it's raining or slippery, the z06 would more than hold it's own... in fact, they are in T1 class vs. T2 for the evo

either way, both cars handle amazingly, the evo's advantage is a much friendlier learning curve and any idiot can get behind the wheel of an awd car and make him look like a good driver
