Chicago Auto Show
Hey guys, just got back from the Chicago auto show where I spent most of my time drooling over the red Evo 8 on the turn table. Its wierd, I have never once considered trading my car in for the Evo, but one look at it and it was over. You have to see the car in person to fully appreciate it. The thing is just awsome. Anyhow, talked to a rep from Mitsu, supposedly the cars will be at dealers by the beginning of March. The guy works at Max Madson, and he said he could get me one for sticker no problem. At this point Im tentatively set up with a Blue Evo 8, that is if I can afford it. Like I said, just a great car in person.
As for the rest of the show, not a bad crop of cars this year. By the way guys, for anyone who thinks the Ralliart Lancer will be a big deal, I crawled under the car for as long as I could, and there is little to no difference between it and the OZ. Springs look a bit different, struts are different, but possibly the most disturbing thing is that the Rlliart car still has the skinny rear sway bar. Oh yea, and the STI WRX looked impressive.......
But is was no EVO!

Truth be told I didnt make it much past the Evo. Talked for a long time with sales reps. Asked about the warrenty crap, about not even allowing owners to change oil, etc..(He said that sounds far fetched, and his service manager would allow some self matinence and mods) The new Lancer looks ok in person, not bad, not good. I must say the OZ next to the new Ralliart Lancer looked dated and a bit plain, but thats my opinion. Did not see any new Galants, but then again I wasnt looking. Oh yea, Mitsu is keeping their mouth shut about production numbers for the second year of the Evo, but expect a huge ramp up.
