Angry dumbfounded situation at PepBoys. What should i do????

I went to a PepBoys to get engine oil changed today.

Of course I brought the engine oil and the filter my self and just wanted the labor.

I usally check the procedure from the begining to the end, but I was on a phone call and could not see they lifting the car.

And I found out they jacked the car up wrong...

Oh, mine is Evo X with SSS aero parts on it by the way.

The jack up bar was touching the side skirts and they were bent because of the pressure.

I will attatch the pics to show how they did...

I complained to one of the guy and he said he will call the manager to talk about it.

But the thing that shocked me the most was what he told me about it.

He said it is normal to be like that, which was obviously not, and also pointed the lifted car next to it and said all the cars are lifted that way.

He just said that side parts are made of plastic and supposed to bend and should come back to its original shape within an hour, or a day.

See the way the parts are bent and tell me how the fxxx this is normal.

He is partially right that the side skirts are made of elastic plastic and can endure certain amount of pressure... but the way they jacking up the care is still so wrong!

I don't know its fortunate or not but the side parts did not crack and look ok...

And most importantly, and most annoyingly, it did damage on the paint of the parts and left some dent on the bottom side.

In this case, what should I do? I am just so dumbfounded because of the reaction after working on the car such a wrong way and made me speechless.

Any good suggestion how I should deal with this please?

First of all, if you are buying the supplies, just do this job yourself in the future.

Secondly, start right now pitching a fit, this is inexcusable plain and simple.

I have the Phantom black aero kit and let me tell you, those pieces cannot handle any pressure, they are extremely delicate. Your paint is cracked, that is bad news right there.

Hopefully you can get some resolution and these pics will certainly help. The ineptitude of some people at these places is just scary.

Take the pics, call the mgr, then call the regional mgr and tell them you want all the damaged parts replaced and then get it to a shop for an appraisal. As a side note, take action not opinions from a forum. You know what to do. Last---never take your car to pepboys.

Why not just change the oil yourself then take the old oil to Auto Zone for recycle?

get a quote of the repair, call corporate and stay cool about it, don't let them push you into anything other than making it new...

these shops go through cars like they are on a conveyor belt going a million miles per hour, just wait until someone doubles up on the oil filter gasket and all the oil trickles out of your car as you drive away. heck i don't even like the dealer doing maintenance on mine.

that's one crappy lesson learned. find a friend or a family member with a driveway. it's a very easy 30 minute job with a couple tools.

Ooo hell efin no!!! Take those pics to a manager and accept nothing less then brand new side skirts!! That is a major ef up on their part. Honestly, if you have the time you should be trying to speak to someone about paying for the new part and its installation every single day until it is taken care of... If not.... Threaten a civil suit and head to civil court! You should not pay for new parts or their installation...

Wow dude. Thats messed up. I would never take my car to pep boys. They should pay for that damage. Just do it yourself next time. The most time consuming part is taking out the screws for the undertray lol.

That's not a "dumbfounded situation", they screwed up, plain and simple. Enjoy the new side skirts.
