left hand drive evo 1-3 maybe 4

i figured out a way to make the evo 1-3 maybe 4 left hand drive. i was at home depot today and parked right next to a mirage. i look into the mirage and saw that the interior is exactly the same as the evo 1-3 except the steering wheel is on the left side. im going to try and convince my dad to let me embark on this quest to make the first left hand drive evo 2 or 3 depending on which one i could get. ill get the car from evolutionimports since there so far the best imports iv seen. if anyone knows where i can get a wrecked mirage one of the newer ones then send me a pm. which me luck

I was driving behind a mirage the other day( pretty sure it was older), and it didnt seem like a regular mirage(could just be in my head), but it was all stock. The back looked almost identical to a evo 6. So it seems very possible, good luck.

about that Evo6 look alike. The earlier Lancers shared a lot of similarities with their Evolutions. I was just starting at a black Mirage same model as the EvoIII. haha took me a while to notice it.....i was just staring blankly. Buut.. good luck with your lil 'journey'. I think you'll have fun. Tell me how registration is.

hey man if u need help talk wit me i have already built 2 evo conversions (4,5) now im goin to do a evo 3 and a evo 6.5tme this summer. also the mirage that looks like the evo 1-3 are very very rare body style they are a sedan but have different body completely then the normal 4g series, and im about to buy one wit a jdm eclips motor for 3500 lol, also the mirage that looks like evo 4-6.5 is the 5g (97-01) and yes they are very similar but it is very very difficult to do a full evo conversion (motor, awd, suspension, ect) due to only the chasis bein the same but not mounting points, as far as evolutionimports go why wouldnt you just get your evo 3 from them for 16k (i think they have one coming in) and just drive that? trust me its a lot of trouble to convert a mirage to a evo but i like the challenge and i know all the people in the mirage scene and i am very familiar. this is not a father son project you need to do some more research then reconsider this, anyway if i can help you anymore just pm me or email me.

what i ment to do since some of you have misunderstood what i wrote is to take an evo 2 or 3 and just swap the dash of the mirage with the dash of the evo 2 or 3 because the dashes are the same just ones left hand the other is right hand drive. this way u can have an evo 3 and not have to worry about drivnig right hand drive. i figured the dash to be about a grand out of a wrecked miage and the evo 2 i could get for 12 thousand regestration done and everything. putting it in is going to be hell but i could do it.

no man i dont suggest doin that if your do not swap from RHD to LHD properly you risk effecting the whole cars structure. also where can you get a registered evo 2 for 12k? and naw it shouldnt b 1k for the dash it will b way cheaper then that and why do you want to do the swap? scared of RHD?

also the structure won't be affect to much because all i have to drill or cut is where the steering wheel goes and pedals. all the other stuff should just fit back into there spot (things like AC pipes). if it doesn't fit i will just twist them around and make custom brackets the AC won't blow as hard but whatever

lol its a little bit harder then that buddy and yes if you do it incorrectly you do risk structure damage. also do you know how evolutionimports gets there cars into the US? they dismantle then them ship them in as parts, then they rebuild the car and title it as a kit car, haha good luck with all those squeeks

You guys realize that in some parts of the UK they have LHD cars right...

You can find LHD Evo 1 through 7s if you look hard enough.

Good luck legalizing them though.
