You guys are arguing over stupid crap and your using dumbass reasons to support your argument. First off, the R32 does have a badass interior and it IS an upper class vehicle. You can have your opinions, but there is a reason why EVERY magazine(this is all they are good for) has appraised the interior of that car. It is VERY classy and has a level of refinement far above that of an Evo. Now, you guys are saying how you stomp R32's left and right....of freaking course. The Evo makes no pretentions as to being a classy car, the R32 makes no pretentions as to being a pure-bred track car. The R32 is nothing but a sporty, luxo GTI....thats it. Sure it has decent speed, decent handling, decent brakes....but thats what VW was aiming for. A car that can be comfortable daily while providing some sport should the owner choose to use it. The Evo is geared for a track. Everything about it screams beat the snot out of me around some turns. As for reliability. The VR6 is NOTORIOUSLY reliable as crap. They will have NO problems w/ that motor through 100k miles. As for the 4g63, I would venture to say that we will have more problems than R32s. Why? Because we mod the **** out of them and make more than 100 more whp than stock. As for a stock Evo....freak, who leaves their evo stock. I would presume that a stock evo would pimp 100k miles no problems as well, but natural aspiration historically speaking is more reliable than a forced induction car. There are just less things to go wrong.

Yeah the interior is good, but one advantage can't even begin to outweigh the massive advantages the EVO has to the R32.

It's like they released a car already obsolete. It's not classy, regardless of what VW enthusiasts think. The car looks exactly like a GTI. No one in the world thinks a GTI is a classy car besides VW owners/enthusiasts.

Retarded I from a MKIV GTI with 300 WHP and even than it didn't even come close to the EVO in stock form. Great car but not even on the same level, R32 is the same way test drove 2 of them. If you are buying the car for a everyday drive and not going to modify it or track it than yes the R32 is your car. Otherwise EVO all the way...oh and the RSX com'mon LOL!!!

Sorry man, but your on crack if you seriously believe R32 is that reliable VW/Audi have got to be one of the worst cars for reliability sake.
Where do I begin, Lets start with my wifes first car a new 99jetta (lease) oil leak, power window broke, stereo quite working, abs malfunctioned and worst the car got a major fuel leak and they wouldnt tow it until the fire department looked at it.
So being it was a lease and we wanted to get out of it, we traded for a 02 audi a4 1.8 quattro, three months later the car caught on fire in the engine bay and I have pics, as soon I find them Ill post since Im sure you audi/vw guys dont want to believe me.

So Audi Leased us a new 03 Audi Avant for very cheap, and trust me its a good thing Audi does free maintenance because the car is there altleast once a month.
Its hard to believe such a ****ty Auto maker could still be in business..
And for my Evo, not problems to report, even with over 400whp, well atleast until I added the Alky kit but thats not the cars fault....

They're probably thinking of the OTC Evos. I wouldn't blame the Evos for blowing up, they were road racing 400whp Evos on the stock block. Bad idea if you ask me. If those were driven by normal people, not racers, they would have been fine. Plus, when people start road racing a new car, they generally blow up motors. Not saying they were novices, but they probably didn't have that much experience with the car.

I had a 01 passat 1.8t for 65k miles and NEVER had ONE problem....and it was making 100hp over its original crank rating and 150tq over its original tq rating. Now, I am NOT saying VW's and Audis are reliable...if you read closely, I said the VR6 is reliable, not the car. And its true, the VR6 can be pounded on day in and day out and will keep on chugging. HPA motorsports doesn't even build those motors when they make 450hp. They just put a thicker headgasket on them...thats it. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I am well aware of maf failures, window regulators, if you had kept your 02 A4 long enough(assuming it was a B5) you would have experienced lower control arm failure at all 4 corners. That is beside the point, I was speaking of the motor, not the car.

No, EVO interior is NOT bad. It's not great, but definitely not bad if you have the leather option.

100hp over stock is nothing to brag about at all. the 4G63 can handle 450 hp without needing engine internals, and the SRT-4's engine can handle 500hp without internals.

The R32 is a great car. It is different than the EVO, still a great car. But, anyone that thinks a VW will be more reliable than a Mitsu, just doesn't read. Look at JD Powers and you will see that VW is almost last in the IQS. Also, for those that think Audi and VW are the same, the survey would suggest not even close. Audi is top 10 and VW is bottom 5.

Has anyone priced a used R32? They have to be one of the best cars on the market for resale value. This may all change when the new version comes out, but very impressive for now.
