VW R32 are a piece of german engineering at it best...but they are really bad at quality also:

My boss owns one...it have been at the dealer 3 times in least than a year...If we count this week...it has been at the dealer for the last 5 weeks because they can't fix the darn piece of crap (they have changed the computer 2 times...all the engine sensors and the CEL won't go off)...my boss is paying almost $800 for a car he can use. And you say that the VW are more reliable that the Mitsus??? NO WAY JOSE!!!

The funny think is that my boss wanted to trade the R32 for an EVO and the Mitsu dealer will not take the R32 in trade-in...no one wants the car...he is praying that the car burns down at the dealer so he can get a new car... NO MORE VW FOR HIM!!!

ok.. my favorite post over there was from TwistedPair I believe his name was... and this part was the funniest...

"The main reason why you would be able to find used Evo's cheaper is because a lot of people buy the car based on it's reputation, and then realize it's too hardcore for their soft asses. In America we have a strong desire to be pampered in our day to day lives, because it makes us feel special. Well, the Evo is not a car that will pamper you, it's a car that will slap your *** and leave you crying . "

that is just too funny.... thanks for the laugh TwistedPair...

I clicked on this thread thinking it was a Skyline R32. That would have made a good thread!

VW can't even get the name right.

my 97 GS-T I had a while back had 118,000 + miles and it was still runing good.

It all depends on how you take care of the good oh 4g63!

yeah, it's a good idea to go on an RSX board and ask if if the evo is better than the r32... what a laugh.

everyone I know with an audi will openly admit that their car has had a **** load of problems. Thats not to say that they dont like it, Audi still makes a quiet and comftorable ride.... They still love the car, but will easilly admit its got more faults than any japanese car on the road. Its pretty well known that japanese cars own American/German cars in Reliability.... even if the jap car is under 20.8 pounds of boost

Interesting reading...personally, I kinda dig the R32...but I am a bit more hardcore (or at least I'd like to think so.) If you get one that doesn't have issues (sounds like a major if, but this is a limited group we've heard from), I think it would be a great car. I do think the interior is more solid than an Evo, but again...we're in the age old debate with this car. Should you think a car is better if it's more designed for comfort with performance as its secondary function, or a performance car that didn't think much about comfort. Well, it depends on what you want. If you want to have a better performance car, the Evo is it. If you want a "nicer" (read in a bit here) daily driver, the R32 is probably a better car for ya. I'm on my 2nd evo, and couldn't imagine an R32 in my garage....but that's just me.

This is how reliable your Audi/Vw is.
Good thing there was someone with a fire ext. there to put the fire out...

HPA motorsports doesn't even build those motors when they make 450hp. They just put a thicker headgasket on them...thats it. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I am well aware of maf failures, window regulators, if you had kept your 02 A4 long enough(assuming it was a B5) you would have experienced lower control arm failure at all 4 corners. That is beside the point, I was speaking of the motor, not the car.
If you ask me, how good can the motor be, if the rest of the car is crap...And how long will a vr6 making 450hp last??? The motor is probably as good as the rest of the car....

Why would someone want to trade there evo for a r32 anyway, after having a evo everything else seems to lack.
