You haven't shared your detailed economic situation with us, so the following advice is based on certain assumptions.

Don't buy an Evo now, you can't afford it.

You're upside down on the RSX, so at least get even before you trade/sell.
Consider that since you haven't been making payments that are large enough on the RSX, then it'll be even worse on the Evo to keep up with depreciation and running costs. Don't lengthen the loan term to 72+ months just so you can barely make the monthly payment. It won't work out well.

i couldnt agree with you more. i took a test drive in an '04 Evo (yesterday) Monday. and i must agree it was an awesome experience. i currently drive an IS300, not much for acceleration in stock trim. (like mine).

the car was modded with exhaust, cams, ect. owner claimed 300-330whp.
the launch was sick, and the car was pulling through every gear op to 120mph. the exhaust was loud and throaty, the cams were loppy, and the bov was blowing like a hooker on payday. what a rush.

unfortunately the car broke. sounded like a valve perhaps. not good.

even with the mishap, i am still going to buy an evo. "pound for pound" this may be the most impressive car on the market, in terms of handling, acceleration, braking, and price. i originally wasnt going to look at evos, due to the fact that they didnt do anything for me asthletically (no offense). after my test drive i see their beauty.

think i may buy a stock car and mod it myself.

IM SOLD!!!!

p.s. that was my first post, hope i didnt bore you

Just messin' with ya. Since you want an EVO so bad, we can make you an honorary member of "the club".

Look at getting one used. If I had to do it again I would have waited and bought a used one. There are some really great deals out there you just have to look, and check them out real good.

Don't feel bad dude, b/c I test drove a Yellow '03 and I hated yellow, but the test drive made me insane enough to actually consider buying it. I couldn't get the loan back then b/c I have some marks on my credit. And I left the dealership frustrated. Now I have great credit but the nearest EVO to me is about a two plus hour drive. It was a good thing I didn't get it b/c I would probably have a 5,000 credit card debt right now and several tickets on my record.

I got my test drive today, and it's the car I want. He let me get on it enough to sell me on it. The car is more than I expected. Too bad it was an '04, I'll be spending my time looking for an '05. Anyone know dealers with '05's left in the NE?

Hey guys, i got the evo!!! got it on friday!!! i got it in silver!!! very happy customer...i went to one dealership, and they wanted to sell it to me for 32800 excluding tax..my dad said **** it, go somewhere else, went to another one, gave me for 32558 out the door!! the next day, the first dealership we went to, called my father, and i was on the other line listening(we picked up the phone at the same time, i dont listen on calls, lol), the salesman asked if we were still interested, my dad said, "we got it from a different dealership, 32558 out the door", and the salesman asked, "really", and said thank you and hung up!! i told my dad, he must feel like a dumbass now!!!
