It is possible you have to modify the centerdiff in the t-case. Probably not something you would want to do because it is permanent due to welding

i thought i read something about being able to do that on the older evo models when awd dynos were not as prevalent as they are today (not that prevalent IMO), i only was wondering this because i just got relocated to ky and i dont know of any awd dynos here... they have one near st louis but its hard to find time to get back there

you somehow disable the rear wheel. I've seen it done before.

Easy, jack the car up and disconnect the driveshaft going to the rear differential. Make sure you mark it though before you take it out....there may be a chance of an out of balance shaft if installed wrong.

what he said. people on the jeep boards have done this before except they disconnect the front driveshaft. i would leave it alone and try to find an awd dyno closer or just make the trip.

The center diff isn't in the transfer case. It is in the transmission.

And you can't just disconnect the driveshaft to make an Evo FWD. You will burn up your center viscous coupler (if so equipped).

AMS converts EVO's to FWD for dyno testing (don't exactly how though).

you can do it if you look in the manual it says if you lift the hand brake to a certain angle you can make it into fwd o yea u also need ACD so only 2005s can do it

Right. You cant just disconnect the driveshaft because the TCase fluid will come out.

You burn up the Viscous if you do it the other way around.

I heard or read somewhere that there was a simple disconnection of a wire to make the Skyline a RWD car. Is that true?

That true for a skyline, not an evo. And the other persons post about the e-brake, wouldnt that just lock the back brakes up?

I believe pulling the e-brake disconnects the center diff... I know it does in rally cars (so you dont stall the engine when you lock up the rears to slide around a turn) and I remember reading something about ACD equipped Evos having the same thing, but I'm not 100% positive on that one gonna look to see if I can find the place I read that.

edit: yeah I found it in my owner's manual, says that while the vehicle is in motion, if you pull the e-brake it will disconnect the center differential allowing the rears to lock up... don't know if this allows you to run an evo on a 2WD dyno though
