The internet is your friend. There are plenty of dealers that have inventory. Might have to go out of state to find the right Evo.

you shouldn't have to wait long, and you could get the IX with all its improvements.
They should start showing up at dealers in a month or so. Most of the press articles I've seen said mid year.

When I bought my VIII, the dealer did not have the exact Evo I wanted, so they did a search of dealers and they ended up selling me one from a dealer in Michigan (which was the closest white/no-sunroof Evo at the time). The bottom line is that if they don't have what you want in stock, another dealer should, and they should be able to get the car delivered to you (for a small fee, of course).

i agree with ludikraut. i had to go to wisconsin to get my ww evo (w/o ssl) it was the closest one that wasnt at a dealership that screws people. LOU FUSZ in st louis has a 05 white evo, but they told me one price on the phone, and when i got up there , they raised it 1700 bucks. so i walked. and had the small town dealer where i live find one and get it here. been the proud owner for 2 weeks now.

if you dont find what you want as far as color/options/etc. WAIT FOR A 9.

good luck either way, you wont be disappointed.

There are plenty of spanking brand new VIIIs sitting on dealers' lots as we speak. Why not ask your local dealer to transfer one in for you?

Unless you want some extremely hard to find colour/option combination (unlikely since there aren't that many factory options to choose from) it should be relatively easy to find what you want.

Plus, if you go for the VIII now, you should be able to get one for less than invoice. If you wait for the IX, you'll probably end up paying MSRP (possibly more, depending where you live), so the difference between the two could be several thousands of dollars.

What the hell? You're in Hagerstown? Haha, damn dude, there's a whole bunch of Mitsu dealers in the DC Metro area with lots of Evo VIII's waiting to sell. You don't have to even deal with your local Mitsu dealer. Just take a weekend and go look around at all the Mitsu dealers in the area (Rockville, Alexandria, Stohlman in Tyson's Corner, Sheehy in Manassas, etc.). Stohlman has 5-6 sitting out front waiting to be bought, one of which is a beautiful red MR. With there being so many still out there, you can wheel and deal until one of them gives you an 05 GSR w/ssl for 30k or so...
