Question and story

My buddy works at a local suby dealership and he had to deliver a new sti to his boss's friends as a rental( yea thats right rental), car has 100 miles on it. He comes to my house before he goes to drop it off. Interior is a little bit nicer than the evo, but when he took me for a ride I wasnt all impressed. I told him id follow halfway to the place to mess around a bit( this part of the story is all make belief, and I would never mess around on public roads). We couldnt really get a light together, but at 1 light I was behind and he signal to take off together. Light turns green and he doesnt take off right away so I had to slow down, and then take off again. He had a slight jump on me(because he was in front, and I took off later), but I was catching up little by little but we had to slow down. By the time I was about to turn around the sti was smoking like a ***** . I got real minor mods and put down 269/233 on a mustang dyno, my question is what do stock sti's put out on mustang dynos?

Stock Sti puts out similiar numbers to a stock EVO. Don't forget your car is modified and a stock car won't feel as fast, even minor mods can make a big difference and your definition of minor may be different than someone else.

BigJ, you know the answer to this question. Your mods are only minor compared to people who do turbo replacements. The "minor" mods you reference gave you 70+ whp over stock, so of course the STi is a lot slower. 269 on a mustang dyno is 300 or more on a Dynojet. STi's only dyno 230-240 on dynojets, just like Evo's.

From what ive noticed heat and humidity take a huge toll on my performance, it was real hot and humid when we were messing around, im not sure how much it effects sti's.

It affects all cars negatively...the STi should suffer equally or close enough that you don't notice a difference between the cars.

actually, i believe the sti suffers more due to heatsink issues with having the tmic instead of a fmic....even on a cold day, my buddies sti's tmic is pretty hot to the touch, so i can just imagine on a hot day...
