Bov

Am I the only one using Blitz? It's VTA so I do get some idling problems but since I put in my HKS Circle Earth Ground, it's less frequent. I like the sound of my Blitz but I plan on buying another one. Is the HKS BOV direct fit or do you have to weld w/ a flange?

if i vent 50/50 can you hear the bov good?
you can do this with no problems with the idle. but it will only make the whoosh sound, and it won't be as loud. like i said in one of my previous threads you have to set it to vent fully to the atmoshpere to get it to whistle. don't get me wrong the BOV still sounds nice at 50/50. you would have to get an idle stabilizer (you can get this on lancershop.com too) to get your car to idle right.

depends on what one you get. but most of them are a direct drop in.

I didn't really notice my MR DV behaving any differently then the stock one until I installed a MBC. I've had this setup now for about 2,500 miles and I'm very pleased so far. I think all the stalling issues associated with this BOV are intake related.

You don't need an aftermarket BOV for stock boost. Why are you getting one? You could spend less money and get a boost controller + gauge that adds significant horsepower instead...

Did I miss the part where he said his leaked like a sieve? During a pressure test, I found mine to start opening ~13psi, but it wasn't leaking like a "sieve." My stock boost was higher than his, but it held fine enough to run 12.8@106. His 03 with lower boost should have no problems with the stock BOV. I'm just curious why he's upgrading that before doing mbc/gauge, which cost less combined and actually provied 20-30whp.

Sorry, interjecting my own lurking thoughts. Mine leaks at well under 8-9 psi I recently found out.

And if yours was leaking at 13 with stock being 17-18 (?) your turbo was working harder than it needed to, yes? For the sake of spool-up and longevity a good replacement BOV seems rather essential in my reasoning - which _is_ sometimes flawed, I"ll admit.
