I bet if you wait 'til the IX hits you'll be able to get (well) below invoice. You're only looking at a 3-4 month wait.....probably.

I'm sure you're correct. I'll probably end of doing that. South Coast Mitsubishi has like 30 Evos on the lot (according to their inventory list online). They're really going to want to move those in a few months, and their desperation will be my gain

29800 plus they made my first car payment of 612, no trade, and independent financing through my credit union.

i let them feel good about the deal by tacking on credit life and extended warranty that i went an cancelled a week later. this is the second car i got for cheaper by letting them put that stuff on there then cancelling the insurance and warranty a week later.

i got my mazda3 hatch new last year for 17500 OTD and sticker was 19100. of course that's after i cancelled the warranty and insurance. I kept gap insurance though.

Thanks for the info. Now I know that it's possible. The general manager told me that they only have a $680 holdback. If they're selling for $29,***, there's obviously some additional profit in there. Or maybe they do sell at a modest loss because it's more lucrative for them if they make a sales quota. Who knows?

Anybody have any references for where to get a good deal on 05 ssl new or used in southeast? No trade, no financing. That is the car I want, but i feel like with IX coming out, if you pay too much for 05, you will take a huge hit when you go to sell.

Does the quote you got include the owner loyalty rebate?

Try speaking with Jason @ Fresno Mitsubishi. Tell him you got referred by another local guy on the EvoM board. He should do you good. Back in November, he quoted my buddy $27,100 for a new silver '05 ("cash price" - before tax, license, finance)

The problem is that Fresno Mitsubishi (10 minutes from my house) doesn't have an Evo with SSL in stock. I'm not likely to get as good a deal if they have to go get one from another dealership.

in jersey they want 36 lol for an apex silver w/SSL so in reality you could walk out the door with a little haggling for about 29-32 for the car its self

"cash price" means the price he'll sell the car for. If you look at a contract, this is what it refers to it as. You do not actually have to pay cash.

phuketall: Do you know anyone in Tennessee? (I think) Another friend of mine bought a bike there and used his friend's address. No tax.

You think that's good....I payed $26,900 in December 2003 for my Evo with Sunroof & C/F spoiler with 11 miles on it.

Not true...Jason got the car (the one he wanted) from Bakersfield. He (my friend) only had to pay +$500 for transporting it.

my salesman told me i got the deal cuz they did need it for a sales quota spiff for each car they sold that month. and I DID get my extended warranty money back Phuketall. If they say no then tell them you modded the car and they have to refund your money, the finance guy said he didn't have to give me the money back either, but since i told him i modded the car he said he was then obligated to give it back.
