You guys are kidding right? LT1 camaro? On what planet do those match Evos on anything stock for stock? You must mean an LS1 camaro.

Eh, why not? The LT1 just had 275hp (or 285 depending on the year). That's no more than the Evo, and it weighs another 200lbs. The evo would definitely win off the line, and likely from a roll.

Yeah what prompted this question? If we were talking LS-1 on a drag strip it would be close...and in the SCCA T2 class out here in the Northwest region there is a guy that can drive the hell out of an LS-1 camaro, but an LT-1? Come on now.

A LT1 should slowly walk from a roll (stock vs stock). About the same horsepower, but more torque, better aerodynamics and it's only powering two wheels.

If it is an LS1, stock for stock, it will WALK an EVO from a roll, especially if its a 6 speed manual. from a dig, it depends on driver, im talking stock for stock.

stock LS1 and stock EVO in a drag race wouldnt be that close, the LS1 would pull on the EVO.

well i've owned 1994 an 1995 lt1 z28. bone stock most lt1's run about 13.9-14.4 @ 99mph. I would say from a stop the evo has the advantage. But lt1 make awesome TQ. from a slow roll 325 lbs @ 2400rpms. So from a roll i would say all lt1. Now the ls1 is a different animal.

Can you tell the difference between the LT1 and LS1 from its looks?

Yeah, the LT1 you can see headlights and the LS1 you can see tail lights...in a straight line anyway...on the track with equal drivers they both look like headlights
