Question when should i get my first service....?

hello everyone i just purchased an evo a few weeks ago and i now have about 1400 miles on it....i called a mitsu dealer and they told me my first service should be at 7500miles.....i've heard diff from friends and from forums that you should get it done @ around 1500 and then every 3 to 6 k miles after ...what are your opinions? and how often should you rotate tires?

I go by Mitsubishi's manual -- every 5k. Follow the manual and you'll be ok

yah i see that mits has a service schedule for severe and regular driving....the severe maintence says to change oil every 3 k...and regular maint...says every 7,500k....so i guess depending on your driving...from 3-7,500 miles.....

Your friends and the forums are correct.

Change your oil yourself at least once and take a look at the oil after 3000 miles. It is ready to be changed (probably even before that). I would not go more that 3000 miles. If you are more of a "spirited" driver, more often than that even. Just my opinion.
