one good run

hey this is my third pass on the 1/4 when i had like 4k miles and was still wingless. my girl started recording a little late but she got the time on vid. she didnt on the other two. the other two were 13.6 and a crappy 13.9. anyway heres my best one. by the way i am stock there and sadly still am but, also its a 2004 RS.

heres the link: http://www.zippyvideos.com/65134992442135.html

side note: my trap sucked i dont know why. but i didnt fowl i dont have the slip anymore but i trapped a little under 101mph. when i ran the 13.6 i was two feet behind the line and was rolling back cuz i was trying to line up but they were trying to finish up and close i guess so i think i could have done better.

It takes practice. Your car has the potential to make lower times at a stock level. I know that every evo is different but it has been done by plenty of others. do a search and the truth will be told

YEAH, its all stock till this day. i met up with some dsm club and they were surprised when i ran that time. not that its not common but they never saw it. people there with other evos claimed they could do 13.2 and less but they had drop in filter and catback with 100octane. so i thought it was decent.

yeah, now i know i could do better i just never drove an awd car u know? i came from a 95 integra gsr. but launching is hard on the evo. i think if i went back with the mods i plan drop in filter(works) and a catback(greddy Ti) and maybe a tune from vishnu since there around the way im confident that i could do high twelves. i know that may be much or little for others but im happy with it.

Yeah, the evo or even a awd car for that matter, isn't a very good drag car. a after market clutch is a must if dragging is your thing. The stock clutch is a good clutch but defintely not for the strip. you will probably get a after market clutch if you want it or not, being the stock clutch will most likely burn out

^^yeah, i dont drag i just was out there with a freind who has an sti and was bragging about hitting 13.6 with a catback. so i went to the parking lot and lined up. i dont intend to drag though not this car i love it too much to hurt it. i want to get into tracking but im still working on the basic stuff right now.

Good job, I don't think you did all that bad especially for being your first three passes ever. I think a little more practice, and watch out!

thanx guy, i appreciate tha' positive comments. now i dont feel so bad. ive heard about a lot of people pulling low thirteen's stock 13.3, 13.2etc. stock. but now i guess its not so bad. heh, the best part was that i beat a new mustang cobra on one pass and as i looked out my passenger rear window at him he smiled and gave me a thumbs up. after the v8 guys came over and asked what the hell i did to make a four door fast like that. and i told him it was stock from the factory. even the fmic. they were surprised. when i first pulled up, they were like"oh ****, look at that guy he has a helmet lol" i guess he didnt think i needed it but i shut them up quick since the only v8 street car that beat me was a z06 corvette with n2o. sigh, i love my grocery getter.

oh, i forgot. i was using the slip technique on the first run(13.9) then a GSX eclipse guy told me to drop it instead at least once to see the real potentiol of an awd car, boy was he right when i pulled up to the booth to get the slip i couldnt stop smiling. i even left the track with my helmet on and threw the peace sign to another evo that didnt run but was in the lot. i still watch this video all the time even though its been almost a year since i took her off the lot.
