Question How do I transport race gas?

I plan on making a trip back to PA. I know where I am going they don't have the fuel I am tuned for. I have some racing to take care of and I'll need it.

What is a good way for me to take back 15 gals. of race fuel? Please don't flame me for asking this, but is it OK to have it in my trunk? I would obviously have it in a spill proof container and strapped down. What other precautionary steps should I take to insure I won't have an accident.... Beside leaving it at home

Any suggestions?

Ah...

Placing racing gas in your trunk is a little like becoming a suicide bomber. That stuff can develop fumes and set up an environment perfect for a catastrophie right in your lil' ol' trunk. Especially on a hot day.

Not a sane solution IMHO

Yhea, honestly I wouldn't do it. I've seen cars that had trunk blasts from transporting race gas. Unless you have a fuel cell, gas of any kind in the trunk can be dangerous.

you should be ok...as long as you have an air-tight container

I transport my gas in the floorboard of the back seat...strapped down and always travel with the windows down

you should be fine

The *best* way would be to buy it in the sealed 5-gallon drums.

+1 that's exactly what I've done. It's all about the container
