Why are you paying so much each month with 10k down and 72 month loan period. I'm only paying 370 month for 60 months with 0 down, 20k car. Have your loaner work out the payment to see why it's so high.
2k Detuctible is insanely high like the other have said, I would go with 500 dectuctible.
Yellow is a good color, I just pick mine up last week.

yes its long but I wanted to keep my payments lower by stretching out the term.
If I get bored of the car I can always sell it and walk away from the remainder of the loan. Thats what I did with my SRT4.....I sold it for $16500, and walked away from a $9200 loan and pocketed the rest of the cash. In the meantime I got to experience the car and have some fun with it. Hopefully with the EVO, it'll be a car I will want to keep for a long time.

72month loan is a bad idea. If you're putting 10k down, don't waste it by getting a 6-year loan. Get that fixed ASAP...try not to finance through Mitsu if you can help it.

$180/month is probably about average, but a $2k deductible is another bad idea. I've never even heard of one that high. If you get in a fender bender, and it costs $1800 to repair/re-paint, you don't mind paying it all out of pocket? I have a $250 deductible...$500 is normal...$1k is high and used by those who just can't afford good insurance...$2k is absurd.
The only other option i can think of is to finance thru capital one. With my SRT4 I financed thru dodge and they gave me a better deal. 60 mo term at 4.34% interest.

My buddy told me that the $2K deductible is a bad idea as well, but I responded to him by saying that I'll just take my chances and be careful, and not do anything crazy with my EVO... but then on the other hand someone else can hit me.

You must not have the math figured out. A longer loan lowers your monthly payment, but it increases the interest and full amount of the loan, and since your payments are low, it takes a LOT LONGER to pay off any significant portion of the loan. The SRT-4 reference doesn't help us, because there's no way you paid it down from 22k (new with interest?) to 9200 if your payments were really low and stretched out over 6 years. Plus, the amount of time it would take to get down to 9200 would make the SRT-4 worth way less than 16.5. Putting 10k down on the Evo will give you a jumpstart on the Value/Loan ratio, but you're just wasting that equity by getting a 6-year loan.

i agree with Warrtalon that 2000 deductible is not a good idea as we all know the repair cost on evo is kinda high. ( al. fender, fmic, )

try goto www.lendingtree.com to see what rate you can get and see if the dealer willing to match it if lending tree offer lower rate.

good luck
$28,888 for the car...plus taxes, etc.

They were gonna slap on a $595 destination charge but I made a fuss and they waived it.

Depending on your situation, getting a longer term loan may not be bad. that is what I did on the first newer car I bought. Was only a year old, and I financed at 72 months to get a low payment (like around $200/ mth). But I had some money in savings and no permanent job. So on those tight months I paid the minimum, but when I had more money I paid up to $1000/mth (still living with folks at the time). Longer term loans can work good, if you can make big payments every now and again, and preferably in the front part of the loan.
(but then, most people usually put that money down, if they have it.) I paid it off in like 2.5 years.
The $2k deduct? OMG! Please don't do that!

Oh, and my preference is white. I've had more white cars than any other color. And I still have 3 that are white right now. But yellow would have matched my Jeep.

i have a yellow 03 evo, had it for about a year(15k miles), i love the color, it definately stands out among other cars, i get ALOT of compliments on it. it does have a couple small chips on the front bumper that are not too noticible unless your up close. my insurance is about 135 a month and i have 5 points. my monthly payments are 490 for 60 months and i only put 1k down. the total price of the car was around 27k.

as long as you dont get into severe wreck your car you will be fine with 2k deductible.

who is gonna claim 1k worth of damages? and then if you do, have your insurance rate go up so you pay 3 times as much in the long run

well, the dealership told me that the bank giving me the loan wont go for the $2000 deductible, so I have it lowered to $1000, this brings my monthly insurance up to $204/mo, full coverage on EVO and liability on my Toyota Corolla
