picking up 05 Yellow EVO 8 on weds

Hello guys, I am so close to picking up my EVO, the insurance has been worked out and the financing part is nearly complete.

For insurance I'll be paying $180/mo with allstate, full coverage on the EVO and liability on my toyota. $2K deductible on EVO.

My monthly payments will be about $350/mo 72 mo. but the details still need to be finalized.

I'm putting $10K down.

so far I told the dealership I will also consider the RS in white, and also the Eblue EVO, aside from the yellow...

Anyways, what do you guys think?

The dealership wants me to get the 8, but I am open to the RS as well...

How does the yellow paint hold up on the EVO???

why do the dealers call it THE 8..the RS is a evo 8 same thing as the GSR and MR they are all evo 8's..they make it sound like the RS is a car by it self then u have the evo 8...anyways thats awesome good luck with the car

pretty much all mitsu paint sucks and is very prone to rock chips. i have a yellow 03 and am very happy with the color. it may not hide dirt very well but the paint chips aren't as noticeable as they would be on another color.

I think you should go with the GSR, but if the RS is a more affordable option to you, then it also is a great choice. What ever you decide, I believe you will be happy. Good luck and gongrats.

Can't go wrong with any of those: RS, Yellow GSR, EB GSR. I prefer the EB, but that's just me.

72month loan is a bad idea. If you're putting 10k down, don't waste it by getting a 6-year loan. Get that fixed ASAP...try not to finance through Mitsu if you can help it.

$180/month is probably about average, but a $2k deductible is another bad idea. I've never even heard of one that high. If you get in a fender bender, and it costs $1800 to repair/re-paint, you don't mind paying it all out of pocket? I have a $250 deductible...$500 is normal...$1k is high and used by those who just can't afford good insurance...$2k is absurd.

LY is the best color because it highlights the many black details of the car so well. Same reason most Ferraris look so good in yellow. White is... well, its all a matter of taste.

a few things can tell if you got a good/average deal:

how much is the dealer asking?
what interest rate you get?

i agree with Warrtalon that 2000 deductible is not a good idea as we all know the repair cost on evo is kinda high. ( al. fender, fmic, )

try goto www.lendingtree.com to see what rate you can get and see if the dealer willing to match it if lending tree offer lower rate.

good luck

yellow is rather rare and stands out a whole lot anywhere...but when the paint chips it does leave either the white primer showing thru or bare metal...so the white paint would hide the chips a whole lot better than the yellow.

are you going with 72 months and the a 2k deductible because the payments for a 60 month and a 500 deductible too much for you? if it is, i would not buy a car yet.

+1 ...I agree, sucks to hear it but you really don't want to put yourself in that kind of hard position financially if you have to squeeze too hard to make all your payments. Good luck though and IMO there isn't a bad color on the EVO but from experience the black looks nice when clean but I have to clean it every weekend to keep the dust/dirt from showing and shows all the scratches.
