I almost had a friggin heart attack today!!

So im on my way home from the hamptons (long island new york) and im traveling on the L.I.E. and in fifth gear at about 3100 rpms i hit it and all of the sudden i heard a really loud thump and feel like something just hit the fire wall. So i press the gas and nothing now im in a state of sheer panic and im freakin out. so i pull over and had this vague idea that the intercooler pipe ppopped off and sure enough it was. Luckily the metal band stayed on the tube and i had just bought a screw driver for a dollar that day( i would have been screwed without it) has this happened to anyone else.

sounds like you engine explodes which is scary as sh*t but its alll good...if it continues to occur, just get some silicon hoses in place of the rubber ones, or get new intercooler piping...samco sells some good ones i now...and was it the clamp itself that snapped??? if so get some t-bolt clamps...they are the awesome. the tube will explode before the clamp itself, not saying that is a good thing but, if your tubes explode, it gives you more reason to upgrade.

Maybe it's the sudden burst of speed that you demanded of your car. And how did u find room on the L.I.E. to speed? Isn't it always backed up on that expressway? I hear it on the radio and see it on the news nearly everyday. haha

yea im gonna get full hard intercooler piping and about your question the tube is fine and the clamp is fine as if it wasnt on there tight enough and yes it sounded like my turbo just blew off of the manifold and hit the fire wall. It's funny because thats the first this i was thinking when it happened i went blank on which side he turbo was on but i felt so much better when i realized it was in the front as oppose to the srt-4

Are you brand new? or are you heavily modded? If you are brand new, it is a concern....hmm
