Mmmm So here is a question for you guys.... They say to run the air tools at 90psi. So I set the regulator to 90psi but when I am using the tool the regulator guage goes down to 80 psi or so then when I stop it goes back to 90psi.... So to actually run the tool at 90psi should I set the regulator at 100psi so that when the tool is in use it holds 90psi?

Also.... This may be stupid but Whith the impact wrench I received an air fitting with a clear plastic piece on it... Anyone have any clue what it is for? Seems like 1 end goes into the gun and the other goes to the air hose. There is also a small hold on the inside with a clear plastic piece around it.

Your compressor tank gives you a "surge volume" that will allow the compressor to catch up to the needs of the tool you are using as long as it is not a "continuous duty" tool like a die grinder, or cut off wheel.

How big is the tank on your setup?

15 Gallons, So it is cool to set the regulator at 90psi eventhough it drops to 80psi when the tool is being used?

If it is getting the job done then leave it as it is. If you can't get something loose with the impact then I would think about bumping it that extra 10 psi.... but that small amount of pressure change isn't going to change anything.

Ok thanks. What about if the job isn't getting done at 90psi? I have not had any problems yet with 90psi but can you bump it up to like 100-110psi to get a little extra on it? Or should you only run the tool at it's 90psi rating?

High pressure air is not something you want to screw with. I would not run any air tool at higher than rated pressure. Yes, they are over engineered a lot, but that is no reason to run it outside of specifications.

Mmm.... Well I goto the IR website and this part number IR-170G is no where to be found yet... There are many auctions on ebay for them "Brand new" without box for REALLY cheap.... Something is not right here.... Knock offs?
