bimmer forums talking smack about evo 8
I think every car enthusiast has more or less some bias opinions on other cars. Also although many of them may be experts when it comes to the cars they like they might be quite ignorant about other cars.
I mean, look at us, we worship the Evo but if I asked you guys about VWs, Alfas or Renaults many of you would not know much about them and would prolly say "yeah the Evo would kick it's ***!!!!!!!!!!"
I've driven the US WRX, the Jap spec Evo 7 and the E46 M3 and here's my opinion:
The WRX is quite fast, is certainly not as powerful as the other 2 but IMO is a blast to drive and is a great value.
The M3 has one of the most wonderful engines in the world, has plenty on power, precise handling and is quite a comfortable ride. You can't compare German and Japanese quality. It's also much more stable at higher speeds.
The Evo, when it was stock, felt a bit faster than the M3 because of the turbo, the lighter weight and the 13 lb/ft torque advantage (although both cars have about the same performance numbers), has a stupid harsh ride and demands a much higher level of awareness because of it's super quick steering. The car makes me nervous every time I drive it. Now that it's modded....wow

Each car is pretty different, and both of mine will have different purposes: my 1995 M3 is setup as the road race car (seeing as how the E36 M3 is one of the most sucessful road racing cars of all time, still being campaigned at very high levels such as Grand Am). The Evo will be my street-driven car, as well as seeing some autocross duty and possibly some drag race time as well.I just posted over there (I'm more of a regular on BimmerForums than here, even) trying to bring some sanity to the discussion and of course pimping the Evolution.
screw em, let alone 330, in first acceleration, the evo smoked the m3, this **** is been done, i drove the evo, it was a 3hour drive, no speed limit, evo6 tme, my friend was drving an m3, bone stock
