Question Blowin Smoke!!!!

Here's my dilemma:

First a list of mods
TBE (no cat)
Injen Intake
Hard UIC Piping
Walbro 255HP
MBC(21 psi)
Custom DynoFlash

Clutch blah blah lol no significance.......lol

I was adjusting the MBC to get it right on the money as I was tuned for (21-22) and now that i have it set right.. ive noticed a slight issue I think i know but not certain so askin all of you.

Shortly after start up and warm up process.. the first time I hit full boost for any little period of time.. i notice smoke blazin out the pipe for a bit.. then it goes away and never happens again til next time possibly(after start up that is).

If i dont hit full boost until awhile after car is running, nothing smokes at all.

Do you think that the ecu dumps hella fuel if the car hasnt been running for awhile causeing it to burn excess fuel?

This has happened twice now and its causin me to now second guess my to much fuel burn theory. I do have a custom tune and saw my A/F ratings under full load and its 11.2-11.3 range in case you want to know.

if the smoke is black then you are fine. As long as its not blue or white dont worry about it.

When warming up the car will run very rich

It is adviseable to make sure the collant temp gauge is ALL the way up to normal level before going on boost

Also - you may consider running slightly less boost and see how that effects it

Make sure you coolant temp is completely up to its normal operating level before even considering getting on the car. I wait even longer, because all that really matters is if your oil temp is up to operating temp, this usually happens a couple of minutes after the coolant temp has peaked. Also make sure your car doesn't run hot and check your oil just keep an eye on the fluid levels. Some evo's burn a lot of oil and its a good idea to keep an eye on your car if it does. Mine so far doesn't burn a drop of oil even cammed, but I still check my oil level about once a week.

well, i dont burn any oil (as of yet) and i usually dont bother hopin on the throttle a lot right away.. just was hopin on the interstate both times shortly after start up.. engine temp was almost to the peak.. but wasnt there for very long.. i was just guessin its due to ecu fuel issues.. .. was black smoke(fuel) so i wasnt TOO concerned.. just thought i'd throw my issue out there

Ok so I've noticed a pattern here.. let me see if you think its my deal or not..

This IS NOT Fuel burning out the pipe.. its oil and thats a for sure thing... when i notice it happens is after i run a few gears in high boost 15+ and I let the gas off.. after a moment.. smoke is shootin out the pipes... it happens for a very short bit and then stops and never does it again until i give it similar symptoms.

Is this blow by oil circulating in back through the intake mani and burnin off?? I DO NOT have a catch can which I need now Im guessing.. and my exhaust NEVER smells like anything but gas fumes.... my oil is at good height on the check stick.. so im not losing any oil.. I may need to take my intake piping off and see if its collecting in the bottom of it but.. just wanting to know if you think its the blow by oil just burnin off.. Thanks

Sounds to me as if you have oil condensing in the intake. When you first start up this oil gets blown into the engine. If true, a catch can will solve the problem.

yea my thoughts exactly after having it happen more than 2 times now.. i can get the feel when it happens and when it doesnt.. i've noticed it more since i put on the MBC but the boost is now lowered to 20 at max to see if there was a difference in smoke... there was not.. so im guessin when i put the intake back on.. its now gettin trapped or something.. im goin to pull the intake off and see if there is any little amounts of oil or any trace of it in the bottom end of the intake tube. I mostly notice the smoke after let up and the intake isnt sucking so hard.... when Im under vaccum
