S60R is certainly a nice vehicle, but doesn't match the EVOs all around performance.

haha the evo does not have 300 hp stock. hell mine dynoed stock at 217 AWHP, and i've got the sheet to prove it if it did, that would be a horrible drivetrain loss.

What dyno was it, was it a Mustang or DD? If so, I do hope you understand those are really low reading dynos. If it is a dynojet, there is something very wrong with your EVO and you need to have it checked out

Well, stock for stock an AMG E55 will beat the Evo in real life acceleration - especially at highway speeds, but at nearly 3 times the price (over $80k) and with 470hp and over 500lb/ft. A local guy ran a 12.1 stock Also, they are low 4's for 0-60 and brake 60-0 less than 120ft... It's the "rich man's Evo"

I'm sure the Evo slaloms and tracks much better, though, as the E55 weighs in at over 2 tons...

Also, the new m5 will be sporting 500hp...

i agree with the audi rs4 more hp and awd and you can't overlook LOOKS. it's an extra bonus in my opinion. One of the reasons i picked the evo over the sti was that i thought the evo was sexy. Now if i can just find that special love hole...

I think the new Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 will take the "ridiculous performance for the price" tag away from the EVO and STI. 475HP and 12.5 1/4 times for only $39K? Wow. Forget 2 door, domestic, live axle comments. That's sickly stock fast.

Every dyno reads differently even the same brand of dyno. All that number is is a reference. Personally I think the 217whp is more accurate than 240whp. Hell with a catback reflash and retarded factory cams I was only making 252 on the dyno here. I'm sure I could put my car on whatever dyno your talking about and have it put up 300 whp. But, I'm not really making anymore power it just reads different. Maybe yours is a really high reading dyno to make people feel better about their numbers.

^Yeah I agree with you, so many different dynos, so many different readings, it's not an exact science. One of the best tests I believe in testing power, is at the drag strip, just my opinion.

300 AWHP on a stock car sounds a little silly. Anyone mention the STI? Although every review I've ever read picked the EVO, they've all said it was by the narrowest of margins.
