Good CF hood/trunk combo
Today at baseball practice my beloved silver evo got hit by a foul ball (figures because i just spent 4 hours washing and waxing it yesterday). The trunk now has a decent sized dent in it, unfortunately. I have been looking at getting a cf hood and trunk, so i figured why pay to get the dent fixed when i could just get the hood and trunk i wanted. So i was wondering if anyone knew of a good cf hood/trunk combo that is less than $1000. And i was also wondering if any vendors have any specials for the combo. Thanks in advance.
im in the looks for that to and i found and did alot of reseach. for fitment stay away from vis trunks. here go to mvpmotorsports.com seibon is the name you want for all your c/f needs. i got my hood yesterday and wow what a fit. if i paint it you would never no it was aftermarket. the trunk is on its way ill update you. evo on
Talk to Heru (evo-mr) about a combo. He does good on prices and his c/f products are Seibon. I think he had an OE style hood going for ~$300 or so. I picked up the Gialla knockoff from him for a sweet price.

The other question i have is how strong is carbon fiber? Like what would happen if my car was to get hit by a baseball with the cf hood and trunk? Would it crack, shatter, dent, or would it be fine?
The material itself is druable as anything else. Why else would they use it to make Ferrari chassis, Lambos, and Aston Martin's? Many cars out there have lots of CF to make up their body panels. You may have a slight issue with the resin cracking, but the fabric itself will hold up like anything else.
BTW, does anyone have any pictures of the Seibon trunk and hood installed? I tried to find pictures, but no sauce.

if you need the Seibon ones, let us know...we have a bunch available
I'll try to find some pics on customer cars with them....overall fit and finsh are quite good
As for strength, please don't get the carbon used on Ferrari, et. al. confused with the carbon stuff out for these cars. By and large, these parts have a fiberglass skeleton, and only the top layer is carbon..it is an appearance thing, not a strength/weight thing
