Aftermarket stereo system - AVIC-N2 hel!!

i just got my avic-n2 dvd/navagational system... the thing is..i can't find any place that can install it...they said something about the stock infinity system, speakers, subs, amps wouldn't work with any aftermarket systems... although i have seem many people with aftermarket systems in their car...

best buy, circuit city, hhgregg(no sure), told me that i needed to replace the whole stock speaker system for it to work? which will cost me about $1000 plus labor....

is anyone else having this problem or have a solution?

i have Pioneer Avic-N2 dvd/navagational system...

I don't have the same system, I have an Alpine IVA-D900, but I can assure you they just want to sell you some speakers. Take it to an Audio Specialty Shop. Here we have NOW! Audio/Video, or Tweeter Audio Video, or RadioActive Car Audio. Somewhere like that should have no problem.

it can be done even with the infinity system. i forget the name of the peice you need but its some kind of connector from the new headunit to the stock amp. maybe soundgate or soemthign likke that. i know it can be done. take it to a legit stereo shop and it wont be an issue

um usually most infinity systems you can hook up a aftermarket stereo to without any problems just it will run through the amp in the car already without an intergration you would probably loose the sub. There may be sometype of a amp intergration i dont think you would need it. But look @ some sites Metra, sosche make most of the stuff for all the cars out there.

i have the SSL system with a pioneer N1 sistem. If the hookups are basically the same...which i'm assuming they are.....everyone who told you that is full of Sh_t. i am assuming they are trying to weasel more money out of you.........as if a $2000 head unit isn't enough money....

but i have the N1 with stock speakers and it works fine.

hope that helps

+1 most evo owners have aftermarket HU's, including myself with no problems at all. Do you have an upgraded speaker option or somthing? That sun, leather, etc. package or something?

Take it to a speciality shop but don't let them screw you.

You need the periphial MITAH adapter for the SSL equipped evo. Its about $20 on ebay. After that youll be good. Im doing my headunit install tomarrow (2005 with SSL)

Soundgate also makes and adapter, which is more expensive.
